Grimes defends ex Elon Musk after he is labeled 'evil climate denier' following horrific LA wildfires
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, recently spoke about fleeing Los Angeles because of the horrific wildfires that have ravaged the area.
The musician, 36, further addressed allegations against her former partner Elon Musk's position on climate change in a series of tweets, detailing the terrible and chaotic circumstances.
Grimes says ex Elon Musk is 'pretty vocal about climate change' amid LA wildfires
Grimes is among the more than 153,000 Los Angeles residents who have been forced to leave their homes due to six wildfires that have ravaged the area. The list of celebrities who have evacuated their houses includes John Goodman and Paris Hilton, per UNILAD.
As the number of fatalities has increased to 11, Grimes defended her ex-boyfriend Musk when she first posted on X (formerly Twitter) that she was among several people who had been ordered to leave her home in Los Angeles.
Grimes shared a tweet about her terrifying escape on January 9, 2025, writing, "Just had to evacuate, tried to go to a friends place / it got an evacuation warning on the way there - now aimlessly driving out of the city. is the whole city gna be gone? This is a serious tragedy for LA - I feel profoundly sad for everybody."

Grimes' tweets served as a forum for broader conversations on climate change. Replying to her, a social media user labeled Elon Musk "one of the most evil climate deniers of all time."
Grimes wrote back, directly defending Musk, "He's pretty vocal about climate change and is primarily known for, in part, revolutionizing electric vehicles."
"I think there's plenty to be angry about but when you stray from fact and reason, your critique loses power. The biggest challenge right now is not falling into creating and consuming dopamine rage bait on social media and focussing on thoughtful, rational, truth based discourse so that we can properly diagnose and solve our problems," she added.

Grimes' tweets also demonstrated her concern over global climate challenges, expressing empathy for "billions of climate [refugees] from less wealthy areas of the world," while comparing the situation to "a weird invisible hand poking the dominoes."
I don't think this event changes much in the grand scheme of things but for me personally I've spent the last month or two getting extra wound up about the state of the world and this feels like a weird invisible hand poking the dominoes (for me personally)

The Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires ignited the city on January 7, sparking the beginning of the Los Angeles wildfires. Since then, the Palisades Fire has already begun to move eastward, having burned 21,596 acres between Malibu and Santa Monica, with only 8% of it contained.
The Hurst Fire has destroyed 771 acres with 70% of it controlled, the Eaton Fire has burnt through 14,117 acres with only 3% containment, and the Kenneth Fire has spread over 1,052 acres with 50% containment.
Despite having burned 395 acres, the Lidia Fire is only 2% of its original size. The newest Archer Fire, meantime, has expanded over 19 acres and is completely uncontained.
Elon Musk blames diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts for devastating LA wildfires
According to Futurism, billionaire Elon Musk recently blamed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs for the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO even went so far as to endorse a reprehensible statement made by far-right commentator Matt Walsh, who said that the reason Los Angeles was affected by the ongoing fires was because it "set out to exclude White men from becoming firefighters."
However, his ex-girlfriend Grimes" Boucher, who was recently involved in a contentious custody dispute over their multiple children, rushed to his support.
Grimes and Musk were in a relationship from 2018 to 2022 and share three children.
Elon Musk slammed as Grimes defends him online
Launching an attack against Elon Musk after Grimes defended the SpaceX CEO, one social media user wrote on Reddit, "Absolutely despicable. Wish everyone would just stop using Twitter already."
Another questioned, "Sheβs mindlessly driving around LA ? How about ask Elon who you defend to put you up somewhere? Lol."
One person asked on X, "Vocal by releasing debris pollutants into texas's lands and waters with his rockets?"
Another explained, "His rocket ships to nowhere, environmentally costly AI endeavors, and lithium extraction apparatuses for his short lived vehicles make him one of the most consequentially caution-less climate apes to ever have plagued the earth β meteorites are favorable to his footprint."
"He vocally denies climate change constantly since his far right political swing," another remarked.
One person commented, "I personally truly believe if Billionaires want to prove themselves worthy of respect and dignity, then they need to help their ppl. Not just fund space programs to go to Mars. Love that mission. I do. But our Earth. Our people need to come first. @elonmusk."
"Grimes that just isn't true. I hope this fire is a huge wake up call to the wealthy. But chances are none of you will. You'll all f**k off to that dead rock in the sky and leave us to burn," another added.
