Gwyneth Paltrow cheers for Kate Middleton after princess's Trooping the Colour appearance despite being friends with Meghan Markle

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gwyneth Paltrow may be friends with Meghan Markle but that is not preventing her from cheering for Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Like many fans, the Goop founder too cheered the 42-year-old princess as she made a grand appearance on Saturday, June 15, during the annual Trooping the Colour event in London.

This appearance also marked her first public appearance since March when Kate revealed that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy after getting diagnosed with a form of cancer.

As the royal family shared images of Kate attending the annual ceremony, the ‘Iron Man’ actress was one among the many fans who cheered the princess.

Following Princess Kate’s appearance during the official birthday celebration of King Charles III, the Wales family shared some snippets of the day on their official Instagram account.

Sharing a carousel of pictures, they wrote, “A memorable day at The King’s Birthday Parade. From the Irish Guards Trooping their colour to seeing so many faces on the Mall, thank you for making it a day to remember. 🌦️.”

Soon, the ‘Shakespeare in Love’ actress joined the online chatter as she penned a sweet message for Kate Middleton in the comments section of the post.

Though the ‘Shallow Hal’ star has been friends with the Sussexes, Paltrow, 51, took to her social media to wish the senior royal well.

Paltrow wrote in the comment section, "So happy to see you looking so happy and well❤️.” The comment has since been liked by more than 5000 fans who praise her stance on cheering for Kate.

In May 2023, the lifestyle coach and her husband Brad Falchuk’s friendship with the Sussexes came to the fore when they dined together with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in London.

Meanwhile, the Sussexes were not present in the festivities owing to their stepping down from their roles as senior royals and subsequent move to Montecito, California.

Meghan is not only a friend to Paltrow but is also rumored to be looking forward to becoming a lifestyle coach like her.

After the Duchess of Sussex launched her brand American Riviera Orchard, a source shared, per OK! Magazine, "From what I understand, I think Meghan will take on Martha Stewart, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ina Garten and play them at their own game.”

The insider added, "She would have to be relatable and natural, the way Drew Barrymore is, it can’t feel contrived or like she’s acting.”

Paltrow's kind words resonated with the fans as they quickly thanked the 'Emma' actress for cheering for the Princess of Wales.
