Kate Middleton returns to the public eye at King Charles’ birthday parade

An exuberant crowd welcomed the Princess of Wales as they lined the Mall Route to cheer for her, as per the New York Post. The 42-year-old mother of three announced on Friday that she was well enough to make it to the event while sharing an update on her cancer treatment.

The annual military ceremony of Trooping the Colour commemorates the British monarch’s official birthday and is celebrated every year in June. King Charles III's actual birthday is in November.

Middleton participated in the parade with her three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as they rode in a royal carriage, while her husband, Prince William was on horseback.

For the occasion, the future queen consort opted for a white dress with black and white bows. She accessorized with a pair of pearl earrings and a white-brimmed hat.

King Charles, who himself has been battling cancer since February, led the procession accompanied by Queen Camilla.

As the royal family watched the ceremony at the Horse Guards Parade, Middleton stood for five minutes before she sat down.

Prior to the Trooping the Colour, the last public engagement that Middleton attended was the Royal Christmas celebration in December 2023. In January, she was admitted to the hospital for a planned abdominal surgery.

Later after much speculation about her health, in a video statement in March, the Princess of Wales revealed she was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer and was undergoing preventive chemotherapy.
