Gwyneth Paltrow sells luxury Brentwood mansion in Los Angeles for $22M after price drop
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gwyneth Paltrow has sold her 8,000-square-foot Los Angeles mansion for $22 million.
Nestled in Brentwood's exclusive Mandeville Canyon area, the estate sits on two-thirds of an acre and was initially listed for $29.99 million in May 2024, according to The Wall Street Journal.
What price was Gwyneth Paltrow's LA mansion initially listed at?
After a price adjustment to $24.9 million in October 2024, the home found its new owner following a final discount.
Built in the 1950s and renovated in 2009, the single-story home boasts six bedrooms, a large kitchen with double cooktops, a wood-burning oven, and sleek black tile flooring.
The airy design features high ceilings and expansive windows that flood the interiors with natural light.
Adding to the estate’s appeal is a separate one-bedroom guesthouse equipped with an office, gym, wine cellar, movie theater, and game room.
Tall hedges and mature trees ensure exceptional privacy, a factor that Paltrow’s listing agent, Lea Porter of the Beverly Hills Estates, emphasized in marketing the property.
Gwyneth Paltrow's family milestones prompt a move
The decision to sell comes as Gwyneth Paltrow, who shares two children daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18 with ex-husband Chris Martin, adjusts to an evolving family dynamic.
Porter shared that the actress and Goop founder was ready to downsize as her children grew older.
Paltrow initially purchased the home in 2012 for $9.95 million with Martin, according to People.
After her 2018 marriage to producer and writer Brad Falchuk, he and his two children also moved into the property.

“Moses’ high school graduation marked a natural turning point,” Porter noted.
Paltrow listed the home in May 2024, coinciding with Moses’ milestone.
What’s next for Gwyneth Paltrow?
Gwyneth Paltrow still owns other properties, including a home in Montecito, California, and another in Amagansett, New York.
According to Porter, Paltrow and Falchuk plan to divide their time between Montecito, New York, and potentially another home in Los Angeles.
While Paltrow’s former Brentwood property was untouched by the Los Angeles fires earlier this month, the actress has remained active in community support.
She recently pledged $2 million towards fire relief efforts, writing on Instagram about the importance of fostering community spirit.
“The Palisades and Altadena—they are more than neighborhoods; they are communities that define what it means to belong,” Paltrow shared.
“Every house is a haven, and a witness to the people who made it a home,” she added.
