Gypsy Rose Blanchard calls daughter Aurora her 'greatest blessing'
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's post included a photo from a year ago in which she and her boyfriend, Ken Urker, are holding a sonogram of their baby. The 33-year-old pointed out that it was the day they saw their daughter Aurora on the ultrasound for the first time.
In the caption of the post, Gypsy reflected on how her life has changed since Aurora’s arrival, writing, “ONE day, TWO meanings. One year ago, we saw Aurora for the first time in this sonogram and my heart has never been the same. She is my light, my joy, my greatest blessing.”

She acknowledged that the day also marked the 10th anniversary of her mother's death, a woman remembered not for love, but for the abuse she inflicted. “That pain shaped my life in ways that led to tragic choices, consequences, and years we BOTH can never get back," Gypsy mentioned.

She continued, “I won’t pretend she was a good person. And I won’t pretend I’ve been perfect either. But Aurora… She represents a new beginning. A chance to break every cycle. A chance to raise someone with love, truth, and freedom. A chance to give her a life better than what I had and better than my past choices.”
On June 9, 2015, Gypsy's then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn is said to have murdered Dee Dee. For her role, she pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in July 2016 and received a 10-year sentence. Gypsy was released on parole in December 2023, after serving 85% of her sentence.
Gypsy closed with, “I carry the past, but she carries my future. And I pray that who she becomes will be greater than who I was, and greater than the woman who came before me."
Internet hopes Gypsy Rose Blanchard has a 'wonderful' life with her daughter Aurora

One wrote, "I am happy for her! This girl went through hell as a child it’s amazing. She’s stable as she is for everyone. That’s been very hard on her. I dare them to have gone through what she did. Her mother was a monster." The second person commented, "She deserves a wonderful, happy life."
Another wrote, "With all her mother put her through she is lucky to be able to even have children luckily that was one thing her mother didn't take away or say there was issues with and have her fixed or stuff removed. I am glad she is getting to experience motherhood and a normal life not the one her mother forced on her."
"I wish her the best and a very happy life with her baby and Ken I think she deserves it," a comment read, and one more echoed, "Best wishes to you honey You deserve a happy family and future."
