Gypsy-Rose Blanchard’s 20-week ultrasound scan reveals surprising detail prompting fans' concern
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the Munchausen-by-proxy survivor whose story captured the world’s attention, is embarking on a new chapter as a mother-to-be.
However, her recent social media post has fans sounding the alarm over a revealing detail in her ultrasound scan.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's 20-week USG, reveals doctor’s details
The 32-year-old, who is halfway through her pregnancy with Ken Urker's baby, shared a glimpse of her joy on social media with a photo of her 20-week ultrasound.
"Our sweet baby girl, for our 20 week ultrasound," Blanchard wrote in the caption, adding, "She is growing and measuring beautifully." Yet, while the image was heartwarming, it also displayed sensitive information—her care provider's details—prompting fans to issue warnings about her privacy.
According to Daily Mail, a concerned follower urged her to find a new OBGYN immediately, warning that sharing her ultrasound online revealed her doctor's name, which could pose a safety risk.
Others agreed, noting the dangers of publicizing such personal information. One commenter even blamed her for any harassment the doctor might receive for treating a felon, suggesting potential backlash against her care provider.
The reactions reflected the delicate balance Blanchard must have navigated as she shared her journey with the world.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's parole challenges as she prepares for motherhood
Despite being free from the traumatic grip of her past, Gypsy Rose Blanchard remained under scrutiny due to her high-profile case and recent parole conditions.
Blanchard was released from Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center in December 2023 after serving seven years of a ten-year sentence for her involvement in the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
She still has 11 months of parole remaining, during which she is prohibited from living with her boyfriend and the father of her child, Ken Urker, complicating their impending parenthood.
Her story of survival is well-known: her mother, Dee Dee, fabricated illnesses, confined her to a wheelchair, and even forced unnecessary medical procedures upon her.
The psychological and physical abuse culminated in the 2015 murder of Dee Dee, for which Blanchard and her then-boyfriend were convicted. Now, as she prepares to welcome her daughter into the world, she is determined to create a different reality for her child.
Reflecting on her own childhood, she reportedly vowed to provide her daughter with all the experiences she missed.
"My mother did not want to see me meet those milestones that every child should have," she allegedly recalled. "Like going on a first date, or prom, or a bike ride. All of those little milestone moments that make life worth living. I didn't get to have that. So, I want my child to have all of the things that he or she could ever want in life."
Blanchard is also preparing for the inevitable conversation about her past. When asked how she plans to address the heavy subject with her child, she admitted, "That question has plagued my mind for a long time. And I have come to a point where I understand that, that question is going to be asked by my child someday. I feel like when that time comes, Ken and I will sit down and have that conversation, and I will explain in the most honest way possible."
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's USG prompts viewers' concern
Fans expressed concern after Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared the revealing ultrasound image online, prompting mixed reactions about privacy and online safety.
One viewer said, "A physician’s name is on everything. From prescription bottles to receiving mail. I doubt anyone will stalk the doctor’s office. The issue should be her legal name and birthdate. It needs to be blocked out."
Another viewer said, "She's not the brightest that's for sure, all wording should have been blurred out."
One viewer noted, "She should probably just stay off the internet at this point."
A follower observed, "She's already over exposing her baby."
One comment read, "More important, her legal name and birth date are showing…"
