NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Social media is flooded with videos of hackers allegedly crashing Zohran Mamdani’s election night celebration on Tuesday, November 4, flashing the phrase “Trump is your president” across the big screen as supporters cheered his historic victory.

The unexpected prank quickly went viral, with the internet exploding in laughter and memes mocking the awkward moment. Whether it is true or not is yet to be confirmed.

Internet reacts to the unexpected troll

Videos reportedly from inside Mamdani’s watch party at the Brooklyn Paramount show the crowd stunned as the slogan appeared mid-celebration. Within minutes, social media users flooded X (formerly Twitter) with reactions ranging from disbelief to amusement.

“Love it! Trump will eventually have to go in and bail out New York City for their stupid decision to elect this communist moron,” one user commented.

Another wrote, “Even their party is accidentally telling the truth now. Trump is your President.”

“This was epic. I think even heaven laughed a little,” read another viral post, while one user dubbed the hackers “unsung American heroes.”

“Lol. That’s not good when the hackers are trolling you at your own victory party,” a viewer quipped, summing up the tone of the online reaction.

"Look at them all cheering the fact that they all plan to quit their jobs tomorrow and join in with the rest of the beggars," another user wrote.

An X user added, "Hahahaha. Always trolling 🤣🤣🤣."

Despite the interruption, the celebration continued as Mamdani and his supporters marked his historic win. Neither the campaign nor the New York City Police Department has commented on the hacking incident.

Mamdani’s victory signals political shift in New York City

Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist, defeated former Governor Andrew Cuomo in a closely watched mayoral race, becoming the first person of South Asian descent to be elected mayor of New York City.

His campaign focused on affordable housing, free public transit, and climate justice, themes that resonated deeply with working-class and young voters. Following his win, Mamdani posted a video on social media showing subway doors closing with “City Hall” visible outside, symbolizing his grassroots rise.

However, Mamdani’s campaign wasn’t without controversy. He faced criticism for initially failing to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada” and for his outspoken stance against Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Zohran Mamdani accuses Andrew Cuomo of sharing Trump’s billionaire donor network

“He’ll be too busy cashing checks from wealthy backers and answering calls from the president himself to stand up to Trump,” he said in an interview with NBC News.

Cuomo rejected the claim, telling reporters, “The president does not support me. The president opposes Zohran Mamdani.”
