LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Haley Joel Osment is speaking out after making antisemitic remarks during a recent arrest in California.

Haley Joel Osment, 37, has since issued a public apology, stating he is deeply ashamed of what happened and is committed to making amends.

Osment told the New York Post on Thursday, “I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner.”

He continued, “The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place.”

Osment recently lost his home in the Altadena wildfire in January, one of several devastating Los Angeles wildfires that also impacted celebrities.

Sources told TMZ that the 'Secondhand Lions' actor had “been going through it recently,” explaining that he lost “everything” in the fire and has faced trouble with his insurance company.

After relocating to a replacement home, his insurance provider has allegedly rejected his claim, as reported by the outlet.

“But that’s no excuse for using this disgusting word,” Osment told the outlet.

“From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts. What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage – I’ve let the Jewish community down and it devastates me," Osmet said.

He added, “I don’t ask for anyone’s forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake.”

Osment was arrested on April 8 at the Mammoth Mountain resort in Mammoth Lakes, California.

Law enforcement responded to reports of an allegedly intoxicated individual just before 2 pm and took him into custody.
