Halle Berry pays emotional tribute to co-star Adan Canto who died at 42, says he 'just gained his wings'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Halle Berry is mourning the loss of her beloved co-star Adan Canto as she shared an emotional tribute on Tuesday, January 9.
The 57-year-old actress took to Instagram to remember the late actor as she posted an image of Canto.
"I don’t have the words just yet…. but my dear sweet friend Adan just gained his wings. Forever, forever in my heart," she captioned the post.

How did Adan Canto die?
On Tuesday, January 7, Canto died at the age of 42 after a private battle with appendiceal cancer, according to ET Online.
The Mexican actor was popular for his roles on 'Designated Survivor', 'Narcos', and 'The Cleaning Lady.'
He also made an appearance in 2014's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' alongside Berry. He has also starred alongside Berry in the action film 'Storm.'
Releasing a statement to Deadline, Canto's representatives at UTA, Entertainment360, and Viewpoint stated "Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew."
"Those who glimpsed it were changed forever. He will be greatly missed by so many," the statement added.

Canto's 'Designated Survivor' co-star Italia Ricci also paid tribute to the late actor.
"I’m completely lost for words," Ricci began her statement about Canto's death on Instagram. "He was the strongest person I know in every sense of the word and I am so angry that this happened," she added.
"No one deserved this less than this sweet, brilliant, kind, and gentle man. Fuck cancer. F**k. I’m so sorry for everyone hurting at this devastating loss and am beyond heartbroken for his family. You’ll be in my heart always," she continued.

Sharing a heartfelt tribute on X, FOX TV wrote, "He'll always be our Arman. Adan Canto, your memory will be cherished forever. We grieve alongside Adan's family, friends, and fans."

Warner Bros and FOX Entertainment also mourned Canto's loss as they released a statement following his untimely death.
"A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment families since his US debut in The Following more than a decade ago," the statement began.
"Most recently, he lit up the screen in The Cleaning Lady with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability," the statement added.
"This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly," the statement concluded.
Canto is survived by his wife Stephanie Ann Canto who is also his best friend and creative partner. The couple shared two children, three-year-old Roman Alder and one-year-old Eve Josephine.
