LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Halle Berry is once again proving her dedication to the craft with a dramatic transformation for her role in the latest horror-thriller 'Never Let Go'.

The 58-year-old Oscar winner took to her Instagram to share a glimpse into how she prepared for the role of "Momma," which included the use of fake armpit hair and tattoos to fully embody her complex character, as per People.

In her Saturday, September 28 post, Halle Berry gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her transformation process, captioning the series of images, "Momma in the making. One of the most complex characters I’ve had the pleasure of embodying." 

The post featured a humorous moment with makeup artist Norma Patton-Lowin, who the actress playfully teased about the faux armpit hair. "What did you do there, Norma?" said Berry while laughing as the pair examined the transformation.

Along with the fake armpit hair, the mother of two showed off other elements of her physical transformation, including altered eyebrows and realistic tattoos applied for the film.

The Instagram carousel also captured Berry’s shift to blonde hair, a topless mirror selfie showing her new ink, and a celebratory moment with the film’s crew after what appeared to be a successful day of shooting.

The actress’s role in Alexandre Aja's 'Never Let Go' centers on a fiercely protective mother of twin sons. The thriller explores themes of family survival, with Berry’s character and her sons tethering themselves together for safety.

However, when one of the boys begins to doubt the existence of the evil they fear, their protective bond is severed, sparking a terrifying fight for survival.

Earlier this year, Berry opened up about her commitment to the role during an appearance at CinemaCon, revealing she employed "method acting" to get into the character’s headspace. She mentioned performing grueling tasks like "eating bugs and raw frogs" and even pretending to skin a squirrel to enhance the realism of her performance.

'Never Let Go' is currently playing in theaters across the globe.

Halle Berry’s dramatic transformation for her role in 'Never Let Go' is making waves on social media, particularly the faux armpit hair that the actress had to put on as part of her character "Momma."
