WASHINGTON, DC: A 2021 interview clip of Vice President Kamala Harris went viral on the third anniversary of the deadly attack in Afghanistan that killed 13 US soldiers.

In the video clip, the Democratic presidential nominee talked to CNN's Dana Bash about her role in President Joe Biden's tragic decision to pull out US troops from Afghanistan, confirming she was the "last person in the room" at the time, as per Fox News.

"Afghanistan, were you the last person in the room?" Bash asked the VP in the interview around four months before the Abbey Gate bombing on August 26, 2021.

"Yes," Harris replied.

"And you feel comfortable?" the CNN anchor asked, to which Harris answered, "I do."

Three years ago, 13 US service members and over 100 Afghans were killed in a suicide bombing attack by Islamic State terrorists at the Abbey Gate outside Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport.

Republicans attack Kamala Harris over her poorly aged remarks on US withdrawal from Afghanistan

On the third anniversary of the deadly attack, conservatives took to social media, slamming Harris for her confident remarks supporting the Biden administration's decision to pull out the US troops from Afghanistan, which eventually turned chaotic and the return of Taliban rule.

House Speaker Mike Johnson posted a video montage on X (formerly Twitter) that included the vice president's remark in the CNN interview.

"Three years ago today, America lost 13 heroic servicemembers in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack. We honor their memory and will never forget their sacrifice," he wrote.

"Kamala Harris was proud to be the last person in the room for the decision that left 13 US service members dead and many more injured in Kabul three years ago today," wrote Dave McCormick, GOP Senate candidate from Pennsylvania.

Former President Donald Trump's senior campaign adviser Jason Miller posted the interview clip on social media and ripped the Democrat, commenting she "bragged about her role on-camera."

Karoline Leavitt, Trump's national press secretary, chimed in that the vice president "owns every failure of the Biden-Harris administration," including the death of 13 US soldiers in Afghanistan.

During last week's rally in North Carolina, Trump highlighted his rival's admittance of being the last person in the room when the decision was made, stating, "She had the final vote. She had the final say, and she was all for it."

Despite continued criticism against the Biden-Harris administration after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, both were noticeably absent from any public memorials or events to honor the 13 fallen soldiers.

While the president and vice president contained their tribute by issuing statements remembering the service members, Trump visited the Arlington National Cemetery for the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Internet blasts Harris over video of her acknowledging being the 'last person in the room' during Afghanistan decision

Netizens ripped into Harris on the third anniversary of the deadly bombings in Abbey Gate that killed 13 soldiers in light of the viral video where she said she was the "last person in the room" when Biden decided to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan.

"She was proud of her role. Actually disgusting. This woman doesn't serve Americans!" a user said.

"What a crock. And this woman is the Democrat nominee for the presidency of the United States. "Do you feel comfortable?" You should be very uncomfortable about the soldiers who died that day," another added.

"Kamala Harris was so proud of abandoning those soldiers who died bc of her decision to let them perish in Afghanistan, heartless decision," read a third response.

"Well, I saw her say this a couple days ago and all I could think was no wonder it was the dumbest, most deadly move America has ever made. Of course Kamala made the decision," added a fourth user.

"What an embarrassment!!!" another opined.

"And still no remorse. Im sure she knows nothing about the 13 killed," someone else claimed.

"Kamala knows what she did. She refuses to take responsibility. This is how she will govern," an individual said.

"Harris in the interview wanted to show America she could make a decision. Like she was important. What she did not know was it was the wrong decision based on incompetence that got 13 American's killed," another user opined.
