WASHINGTON DC: Speaker Mike Johnson claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris’ choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate makes it “easier” for Republicans to run against Democrats in November.

Johnson questioned Democrats' liberal agenda with Walz's selection as VP pick.

Mike Johnson says 'radical' Kamala Harris should have chosen a moderate

Mike Johnson referred to Walz as a "far-left candidate and choice," claiming that his nomination as vice president reflects the Democrats' liberal agenda.

Johnson claimed "that dynamic" will make it easier for Republicans to win in November.

"It makes it easier for us. He is a far-left candidate and choice. I frankly thought that she might try to choose a moderate, but obviously she has proven once again who she is," Johnson told The Hill.

"We refer to Kamala Harris as a San Francisco radical because she is,” he added.

The Speaker cited Harris' liberal voting record while in the Senate, claiming that "she has radical positions that do not line up with the American people." Johnson went on, "I think the choice of Walz just further verifies that."

Vice President Harris ended weeks of speculation on August 6, by choosing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

They made their first appearance together as the Democratic ticket in Philadelphia.

Walz called serving as Harris’s running mate the “honor of a lifetime” after Harris shared her announcement and phone call to Walz asking him to be her running mate.

Walz used his first appearance as Harris’s running mate to contrast his background with that of former President Trump, according to excerpts from the campaign.

“Donald Trump — he sees the world differently,” Walz said according to the publication citing excerpts from the campaign. “He doesn’t know the first thing about service — because he’s too busy serving himself."

Internet claims Tim Walz is going to make things 'anything but easy' for GOP

Social media disagreed with Johnson's assertions about making it any easier for the GOP, while others noted Republicans were making similar statements for other candidates too.

One user on X wrote, “GOP’d say that no matter who it was.”

Another commented, “I guarantee Walz is going to make it anything but easy for the GOP. In fact, he will shine a light on them and their hypocrisy. Good riddance MAGA.”

“Pretty sure I’ve heard this in every campaign for 16 years,” one more user noted.

“That only appeals to their brain dead base,” another added.

“2 weeks back he said the same about Harris,” noted one more. "Ok we shall see,' wrote another
