PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was slammed by conservatives on social media platforms after she visited Penzeys Spices in Pennsylvania as a campaign pit stop on Saturday, September 7, and promoted the store on social media the following day.

According to the New York Post, the establishment is known for its strong anti-Republican stance. However, Harris called for an end to political division while browsing through the store and meeting her supporters.

On Sunday, September 8, Harris wrote about the store across social media platforms about her visit, "I look forward to using my new seasonings from Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh at our next Sunday family dinner."

Kamala Harris' controversial visit to Penzeys Spices

Penzeys Spices is known for its anti-Republican outlook, with the company website having an entire page titled "About Republicans", containing an 842-word essay slamming the GOP.

Penned by CEO Bill Penzey, the essay reads, "Going forward we would still be glad to have you as customers, but we’re done pretending the Republican Party’s embrace of cruelty, racism, Covid lies, climate change denial, and threats to democracy are anything other than the risks they legitimately are."

It also states that the store was happy for GOP supporters to take their business elsewhere.

Standing at the establishment, Harris told reporters on Saturday, "It’s time to turn the page on the divisiveness. It’s time to bring our country together, chart a new way forward.”

"We have more in common than what separates us,” she asserted, mentioning that it was "courageous" of the locals to stand against attempts to divide Americans.

Kamala Harris criticized online for promoting Penzeys Spices

Netizens, especially conservatives, slammed Kamala Harris on X (formerly Twitter) for showing off the store visit promoting Penzeys Spices.

"Ma’am we can’t afford groceries," one social media user wrote.

"Begging for attention," said another.

"Glad you can afford spices and Sunday dinner cuz most people can’t under your administration," one person remarked.

"Kamala’s visit at Penzeys Spices was contrived like everything else in her campaign," added another.

"This is the most weird campaign I have ever seen. We get Instagram like pictures of dinning & shopping and not a single American has any idea what her policies are because she refuses to take questions or hold a press conference," one individual remarked.

However, supporters of the Democratic nominee tried to back her up on the platform, with one commenting, "I look forward to you using some of those spices to cook Trump during the debate."
