WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris is under scrutiny after being called out by Marc Benioff, owner of Time magazine, for repeatedly declining interview requests from the renowned publication, as per the New York Post.

Benioff's criticism has ignited a fresh wave of controversy, drawing attention to Harris’ media strategy.

With Election Day fast approaching, her selective approach to interviews has not gone unnoticed, sparking both public and media reactions that highlight concerns over her campaign's direction.

Marc Benioff calls out Kamala Harris for not agreeing to interview for profile

On Sunday, October 13, Marc Benioff, who purchased Time in 2018, publicly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for avoiding interview requests from his magazine.

In a tweet that quickly gained traction, Benioff expressed frustration over the vice president’s lack of engagement with Time, contrasting her behavior with other leading candidates.

“Despite multiple requests, TIME has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris — unlike every other Presidential candidate,” Benioff tweeted. “We believe in transparency and publish each interview in full. Why isn’t the Vice President engaging with the public on the same level? #TrustMatters #TransparencyMatters #Leadership.”

Benioff's frustration was particularly evident, as Time had previously secured lengthy interviews with both former president Donald Trump and President Joe Biden during their respective campaigns.

In fact, a recent profile of Harris published on Time revealed that Trump spoke with the magazine for 90 minutes across two interviews, while Biden participated in a similar-length interview.

Yet, despite the multiple requests, Harris has remained elusive.

Charlotte Alter, the writer behind the Time profile, noted in her piece that when Harris does agree to interviews, she tends to favor local media outlets, cultural podcasts, or talk shows with a friendly tone.

Alter also made it clear that Harris showed no interest in speaking with her or the magazine for the profile.

The vice president’s decision to skip interviews with Time stands in stark contrast to her recent appearances on more lighthearted platforms.

Over the past week, Harris opted to appear on 'The View', the popular podcast 'Call Her Daddy', and late-night shows like 'The Howard Stern Show' and 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'.

Of her many recent media appearances, only one—her interview with '60 Minutes' last Monday—was with a serious news outlet.

Despite Harris’ reluctance to engage with Time, the publication ran a glowing profile of the Democratic candidate in August, even after she refused to speak with them at that time as well.

Kamala Harris trolled online in wake of Marc Benioff’s remarks

As Marc Benioff’s remarks about Kamala Harris circulated online, public reactions were swift, with many people expressing their own criticisms of the vice president.

One person remarked, "Because she knows once she has to face a single tough question it’s over for her." Another said, "Kamala Hidin’ Harris is desperately trying to run out the clock at this point in her failed campaign."

"Don’t feel bad Time you’re only missing word salad!," wrote one person. Another added, "Harris is a cowardly disaster."

One individual wrote, "Even the lefty's are calling her out. The reason She doesn't go on any serious news programs or shows is the fact that she is totally lacking in knowledge and is extremely incompetent to answer any critical questions."

Another pointed out, "Kamala is incapable of doing anything but softball interviews."
