WASHINGTON, DC: Speaking out against former President Donald Trump on Tuesday, June 11, former Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan criticized the former leader of the party for his lack of morality and ethics and declared he would not be voting for him, stated HuffPost.

He told Fox News host Neil Cavuto, "If you put yourself above the Constitution, as he has done, I think that makes you unfit for office."

During the interview, Cavuto questioned whether "the whole Jan 6 thing" was the reason for that to which Ryan answered, "That’s a part of it. I think it really is just character at the end of the day, and the fact that if you’re willing to put yourself above the Constitution ― an oath you swear when you take federal office, whether as president or a member of Congress, you swear an oath to the Constitution ― and you’re willing to suborn it to yourself, I think that makes you unfit for office."

Ryan also held Trump accountable for the GOP's recent electoral setbacks. He said, "He’s cost us a lot of seats. He cost us the Senate twice. He cost us the House because he is nominating, he is pushing through the primaries people who cannot win general elections but who pledge fealty to him."

Ryan claimed that voters have been presented with 'terrible choices' for the election on November 5 and added that he does not like President Joe Biden either.

He said, "In a country with 350 million people, this is the choice we have? I, like the majority of Americans, wish we had a different choice."

Ryan said the fact that Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, who withdrew from the Republican presidential primary in March but continues to receive a significant protest vote in the subsequent contests, would not be the party's nominee.

He said, "She’d probably win this thing by 12 points."

Internet agrees with Paul Ryan as he criticizes Donald Trump during interview with Fox News

People on the internet sided with Paul Ryan as he criticized Donald Trump for his lack of morality and ethics and declared he would not be voting for him.

Some online comments read "Catch up, Paul. He was unfit for office long before he mentioned the Constitution" and "I am with Ryan on this fact. The political machin has yielded to really crummy choices. We gotta step up and do better as citizens and stop going with the flow..."

A person wrote, "Thank you RYAN no one is above the law period" while one added, "Trump belongs in prison with Bubba and the secret service watching over him. Trump for prison/2024."

A user also stated, "Of course, Trump is unfit for office. He's unfit for dog catcher. Any real Republican knows it and would say so, but those with integrity got chased out of or left the party."
