NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: According to court records revealed on Wednesday, January 1, famed magician David Copperfield had dinner at one of late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's residences with an alleged victim. He further questioned the woman if she knew that girls were being paid to recruit other girls.

In a May 2016 deposition, wherein numerous redacted names were made public, Epstein accuser Johanna Sjoberg stated that she had met Copperfield, 67, per recent developments.

The revelation is part of an extensive unmasking that a judge ordered shortly before the new year, revealing more of Epstein's intricate network linked to his despicable sex trafficking enterprise.

The names of more than 150 individuals connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein went public on January 1, 2024.

Epstein committed suicide in 2019 while he was awaiting prosecution on sex trafficking charges involving minors.

How is magician David Copperfield linked to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein?

According to Johanna Sjoberg's evidence in recently released court records, the popular magician was having dinner at Epstein's residence when he inquired whether she was aware that other girls were being paid to attract new girls.

The document stated, "David Copperfield was at a dinner at Epstein’s and there was another girl present who looked young and Johanna asked what school she went to and Johanna did not recognize the school name as being a college and she said it was possible it was a high school aged girl."

"Johanna said Copperfield 'questioned me if I was aware that girls were getting paid to find other girls'," per Daily Mail.

Sjoberg claimed to have seen Copperfield perform magic acts during the dinner and to have known Epstein to be his friend.

During the meal, Copperfield talked to Sjoberg about Epstein's interactions with young girls.

She claimed, "He questioned me if I was aware that girls were getting paid to find other girls."

Since at least 1994, Copperfield had gone to Epstein's island, Little St James, four years before the scandalized financier paid $8 million to venture entrepreneur Arch Cummin for the island.

Sjoberg stated in her deposition on May 18, 2016, that she had supper at Epstein's house when she first met Copperfield, but she did not specify the exact time or location of their encounter.

"Someone called me from the house and said that he would be there, and if I wanted to come have dinner, then I could meet him," Sjoberg said.

Sjoberg claimed that when she got there, Copperfield was not at the house, so she waited with a young-looking girl she had not seen before.

"So when I arrived at the house, he wasn’t there yet, but I waited with, I believe, Sarah Kellen, and there was another girl there which I had never met and never seen. She seemed young to me," she said.

Sjoberg inquired about the girl's school to see if it was one of the nearby colleges, but she was unable to identify the name and suggested it might have been a high school.

"I asked her what school she went to, kind of prodding to see if she went to one of the area colleges, and I did not recognize the name of the school," she said.

"So I thought she could be younger than college age, but I had to assume for my own sanity that she was a daughter of one of his friends," she added.

The scandalized Prince Andrew is among the other well-known figures in the court document cache, along with former presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.

Internet mocks David Copperfield as court docs reveal Epstein connection

Social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam the American magician for his alleged connection to the disgraced late financier.

One of them wrote, "You’re telling me David Copperfield wasn’t able to make his name disappear from the list ????????"

Another said, "Oh great, just what we needed, another story about a famous person being associated with that creep Epstein. And of course, it had to involve magic tricks. Because that's not weird or anything, right? A grown man performing magic tricks at dinner for a woman who has accused him of sexual abuse. Nothing sketchy about that at all."

"You are aware that this isn’t a client list, but the identities of people who have appeared in hundreds of court records stemming from the now settled Maxwell lawsuit," noted a third.

A user exclaimed, "This makes me sad. I loved David Copperfield as a child."

"You would think that David Copperfield would have been able to make his name “disappear” from the Epstein List…Guess he’s not much of a magician after all," someone said snarkily.

"David Copperfield can't disappear from that Epstein list!" mocked another.
