PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump, the leading contender for the Republican Party's presidential nomination, has expressed his dissatisfaction with rival Nikki Haley's decision to continue her 2024 campaign despite repeated losses.

Speaking to reporters outside his Mar-a-Lago residence, Trump stated, “I think she hurts herself, but I think she hurts the party — and in a way, hurts the country.”

Trump came out with these comments against the former South Carolina governor shortly after the US Supreme Court concluded hearing oral arguments about his Colorado ballot case.

“I don’t know why she continues,” the 77-year-old MAGA figurehead remarked. “I don’t really care if she continues.”

What did Donald Trump say about Nikki Haley’s campaign strategy?

The former United States President continued highlighting Haley's comprehensive defeats in the GOP primary elections in Nevada, Iowa, and New Hampshire, per a report by the New York Post.

“I don’t know why she continues, but let her continue. We have a big win coming up, as you know, in South Carolina, and the polls are indicating that we’re through the roof on that one,” Trump added.

Ahead of Thursday night's Nevada caucus, which will decide the allocation of 26 delegates, the former commander-in-chief expressed his confidence that he would perform "very well."

Trump's recent remarks regarding Haley's campaign harming "the party" contradict his previous assertion that the presidential race should continue until she withdraws "for the sake of party unity."

Trump had previously urged the Republican National Committee to drop a resolution that would have proclaimed him the "presumptive nominee."

On Truth Social last month, the former POTUS wrote, “While I greatly appreciate the Republican National Committee (RNC) wanting to make me their PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE, and while they have far more votes than necessary to do it, I feel, for the sake of PARTY UNITY, that they should NOT go forward with this plan.”

He continued, “I should do it the ‘Old Fashioned’ way, and finish the process off AT THE BALLOT BOX. Thank you to the RNC for the Respect and Devotion you have shown me! TRUMP2024”

Despite the setbacks she has faced thus far, Haley has demonstrated her determination to pursue her presidential ambitions, contending that Trump should not be granted an automatic win.

The 52-year-old former United States ambassador to the United Nations has expressed her intention to compete in the upcoming primary in her home state and the much-anticipated ‘Super Tuesday’ set for March 5, maintaining that results from the first-in-the-nation states that had conducted the primary electoral process should not dictate the eventual nominee.

Additionally, the former South Carolina governor has affirmed that the success of her campaign hinges on her performance in her home state, where she aims to improve upon her prior electoral outcomes in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Haley told NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ last month, “As long as I keep growing per state, I am in this race.”

She continued, “I have every intention of going to Super Tuesday, through Super Tuesday. We’re going to keep on going and see where this gets us. That’s what we know we’re going to do right now. I take it one state at a time. I don’t think too far ahead.”

Internet mostly agrees with Donald Trump's evaluation of Nikki Haley's campaign

People on X served up mixed reactions in regards to Trump's recent comments as his immediate Republican opponent, Nikki Haley, experiences overwhelming setbacks at the initial state primaries in her bid to mount a challenge for the GOP presidential nomination.

One X user remarked, "Need to get behind one candidate and it's getting harder to see that not being Trump."

"What’s hurting the party is a cult-like following of a conman with indictments across multiple states," another user argued.

"What he means is that it hurts him," another user said.

One user asked, "What’s one more s**t candidate in a slate of s**t candidates?"

"I think “None of These Candidates” should drop out as well, it’s destroying the party," another X user quipped.

One user tweeted, "He is right!"
