'He’s just the best, it’s so fun': Margot Robbie gushes over her 'normie' husband Tom Ackerley
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Margot Robbie is not only a successful actress and producer, but also a loving wife.
The 'Barbie' star has been married to Tom Ackerley since 2016, and she can’t stop gushing over him.
How Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley met and fell in love
In a recent interview with E! News, Robbie revealed why she calls her husband a “normie” and how they balance their personal and professional lives.
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley crossed paths while working on the 2014 film 'Suite Francaise,' with Robbie portraying a French villager and Ackerley serving as the third assistant director.
In a 2016 interview with Vogue, Robbie revealed that she had a crush on Ackerley from the beginning but hesitated to confess her feelings.
“I was always in love with him, but I thought, Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him,” she recalled.
“And then it happened, and I was like, Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.”
The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Australia in December 2016.
Why Margot Robbie loves her 'normie' husband
Despite being married to one of the most famous and talented actresses in Hollywood, Ackerley is not interested in the spotlight.
He is happy to work behind the camera, as a producer and director. Robbie told the station that she is grateful for his support and his down-to-earth attitude.
“I am so lucky,” Robbie told E! News. “He likes being behind the camera. He’s not fazed by any of this stuff.”
“He’s just the best, it’s so fun,” she continued. “I love the word ‘normie,’ yes, like all my friends, everyone’s like, ‘That’s cool what you do but it’s more fun just to hang out and talk about other stuff.’ And you’re like, ‘I know.’”
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley found a production company along with friends
LuckyChap Entertainment, a production company that Robbie and Ackerley founded in 2014, aims to tell diverse and female-driven stories.

Since then, they have produced several critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, such as 'Barbie,' 'Birds of Prey,' 'Promising Young Women' and 'Saltburn' among others besides their Television ventures.
