Hilaria Baldwin blasted as she reveals daughter Carmen, 11, is releasing skincare book: ‘This is absurd’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hilaria Baldwin has been facing brickbats online after she disclosed that her eldest daughter, 11-year-old Carmen Gabriela, with Alec Baldwin, has written a skincare book and it will be released next year.
The yoga instructor made the announcement on her Instagram account on Friday, December 6.

She wrote, “If your child is like ours, skincare is an obsession. Walking that line of letting them explore and have fun, but also being conscious of what they are putting on their skin is a hard one!”
Hilaria Baldwin discloses daughter Carmen makes her ‘own skincare products’
Hilaria Baldwin also noted that the youngster makes her “own skincare products, from our kitchen, researching, learning about beneficial ingredients, creating and having fun,” which has now been shared in the book 'Glowing Up'.
“Today we’re so excited to share that Carmen is announcing the launch of her book, ‘Glowing Up: Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty Empowerment, Self-Care, and Natural Radiance in One Inspiring Guide’,” Hilaria added.
The 40-year-old entrepreneur, who shares seven children with the ‘30 Rock’ star, went on to hail Carmen in her social media post as she declared, “We are so proud of you Carmen, and so excited to share this project with you all!”

However, Instagram users did not seem happy with the idea of a child making skin care products and writing a book about it.
A user commented, “I’m not sure what skin care products she needs to be making at home? for 11 year old skin? Eat healthy and drink plenty of water, daily sunscreen and moisturiser, that’s all that anyone needs.”
Another user wrote, “How old is she? Don’t get this. Sad.”
Someone else said, “Great. She’s a beautiful young lady. Glad she’s experimenting, all good stuff. But exactly what knowledge does she have to write a book at her age?”
“Natural beauty? Of course she’s 11. Let her be that age. This is absurd. I was still playing with Barbie dolls at 11,” an individual posted.
Another one shared, “Why push an 11 year old into an adult world? We are becoming a nation of Kardashians. Sad.”
“Beauty care tips from a child, with child skin? Aside from regular bathing, why do children need any kind of beauty care? Children are so pure and natural on their own-this is so unnecessary. All this does is teach children that their natural appearance needs fixing, and that you better start early, because aging is not allowed,” a comment read.
A person remarked, “This is so wrong on so many levels.. do better ‘mom’.”
Another person added, “She‘s 11 !!! and looks like 16… that's sad 😢😢 my daughter is the same age and can and should really still be a child!”
Hilaria Baldwin says her eldest daughter ‘takes care of all of us’
Hilaria Baldwin also spoke with People about the book, launching on March 23.
She told the publication, “I loved creating this book with Carmen. One of my goals as a mother is to really foster my children's creativity and individuality and see where their passions and skills collide.”
“I would have LOVED this book growing up. I actually love her products now and learn so much from her. She takes care of all of us at home,” she added.
