MIAMI, FLORIDA: In a recent social media post, Donald Trump Jr expressed profound concern over President Joe Biden's ability to outwit Russian President Vladimir Putin, juxtaposing Biden's demeanor with that of Tucker Carlson's interview with Putin.

The interview, conducted by Carlson, a prominent conservative figure, garnered attention for its rare insight into Putin's perspective. Trump Jr.'s remarks highlighted broader concerns about Biden's cognitive abilities and his administration's approach to foreign policy.

Questioning Biden's capacity

The interview, published on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday evening, February 8th, marked a significant moment as Putin engaged with US journalists, a rarity in diplomatic exchanges. Trump Jr, the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, took to social media to express his unease, stating that the interview left him "terrified

"The Tucker interview with Putin is terrifying because I'm trying to imagine Joe Biden outwitting Putin on any single topic and honestly I can't. Not one! Biden can't remember when his son died or when he was VP and Putin is reciting ninth-century history off the cuff!!!" Trump Jr wrote.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine, initiated by Putin's invasion in February 2022, has exacerbated tensions between the United States and Russia.

Biden has positioned himself as a staunch supporter of Ukraine, providing substantial financial aid to Kyiv for defense against Russian aggression. While this aid initially appeared to bolster Ukraine's defenses, it also strained relations with Russia, which vehemently opposes Western military assistance to Ukraine.

Social media reactions

The sentiment echoed by Trump Jr resonated across social media platforms.

"Joe Biden needs to retire!" one user posted on X.

"Joe Biden thinks Mexico borders with Gaza. He said so last night. Biden’s brain is lost," another wrote.

"As long as Biden doesn’t think Airports were stormed in 1776, I’m fine," someone else quipped, referring to one of the president's recent gaffes.

"Putin showed us his strength yesterday. Biden showed us his weakness," another chimed in.

Investigation Raises Doubts

Amidst growing scrutiny, Special Counsel Robert Hur released a report investigating Biden's handling of classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement and his residence. While Hur declined to prosecute Biden, citing insufficient evidence, the report raised questions about the president's memory.

"In his interview with our office, Mr Biden's memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended ('If it was 2013 - when did I stop being Vice President?'), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began ('in 2009, am I still Vice President?')," the report stated.

"He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him," it added.

Biden, however, dismissed concerns about his cognitive abilities during a press conference, telling reporters, "I know what the hell I'm doing."

"I don't need anyone to remind me when he passed away. Every Memorial Day we hold a service [to] remember him attended by friends and family and the people who loved him. I don't need anyone—I don't need anyone to remind me when he passed away," he added.

Meanwhile, Biden's physician, Kevin O'Connor, released a report affirming the president's fitness for duty, declaring there were no indications of dementia or cognitive decline.
