The world’s a little brighter today,” the 59-year-old said, who had even hosted a fundraiser for Mamdani.

Zohran Mamdani claims to have 'made history' after his win
Meanwhile, after his victory, Mamdani said, as per BBC, “Tonight, we made history. I will be your Democratic nominee for the mayor of New York City.”

At a recent event, he even said, “This is a city where one in four of its people are living in poverty, a city where 500,000 kids go to sleep hungry every night. And ultimately, it's a city that is in danger of losing that which makes it so special.”
But his proposals, like free bus service citywide and a chain of city-owned grocery stores focused on affordability, have faced scrutiny, as reported by Breitbart.
Laura Gillen calls Zohran Mamdani’s proposals ‘unachievable’
In a statement, Representative Laura Gillen (D-NY) said, “His entire campaign has been built on unachievable promises and higher taxes, which is the last thing New York needs.”
“Beyond that, Mr. Mamdani has called to defund the police and has demonstrated a deeply disturbing pattern of unacceptable antisemitic comments which stoked hate at a time when antisemitism is skyrocketing,” Gillen added.
