Internet divided as Usher gets extra close with Alicia Keys during bombshell Super Bowl halftime show
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Usher pulled out all the stops for an electric Super Bowl halftime show performance Sunday night, February 11, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The R&B icon was joined on stage by a star-studded lineup of surprise guests, including Alicia Keys, HER, will.i.am, Lil Jon and Ludacris.
Clad in a Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit that showed off his fit physique, Usher immediately had the crowd on their feet as he emerged on a floating platform high above the stadium floor to open his set with his 2004 smash hit 'Caught Up'.
As he made his way down to the main stage, he kept the energy going with sultry performances of 'Love in This Club' and 'Confessions Part II'.
Usher's steamy performance with Alicia Keys during Super Bowl raises eyebrows
But it was Usher's steamy duet with surprise guest Keys on their 2004 chart-topper 'My Boo' that created the biggest buzz online. As Keys sang a snippet of 'If I Ain’t Got You' while playing the piano, Usher snuck up behind her, invading her personal space in a way that raised some eyebrows.
The two then segued into 'My Boo', performing tantalizingly close face-to-face as they reprised their famous back-and-forth vocals. Usher could be seen suggestively running his hand down Keys' arm at one point.
Pinnacle of Usher’s show came during performance of his 2004 smash 'Yeah!'
Keeping the surprises coming, Usher was next joined by rising R&B songstress HER for a powerful rendition of 'Bad Girl'. The two vocal powerhouses played off each other masterfully, showcasing their impressive range and versatility on the smoldering duet.
Then, Black Eyed Peas leader will.i.am emerged to team up with Usher for a high-energy performance of their past collaboration 'OMG', which had the crowd singing loudly along to one of 2010's biggest hits.
But the absolute pinnacle of the halftime show festivities came during Usher’s roof-raising finale performance of his quintessential 2004 smash 'Yeah!' High up on a secondary stage, Usher was joined by Lil Jon and Ludacris in recreating their iconic collaboration from almost 20 years ago.
