LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman showcased his baking skills and celebrated Pride Month with a heartfelt Instagram story, just 10 months after his surprising split from Deborra-lee Furness.

On Thursday, June 27, the 'Wolverine' star shared a photo of a homemade cake adorned with bright yellow icing and rainbow decorations on his Instagram Stories.

“Happy Pride!” the 55-year-old actor captioned the image in vibrant rainbow font, showing his support for the LGBTQ+ community during the globally celebrated Pride Month in June.

Jackman's Instagram story further gave rise to the rumors about him being gay.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, Jackman stated, "If I was gay, I would be gay."

"I don’t think – it’s to me not the most interesting thing about a person anyway, but ah - I do get frustrated for Deb, 'cause I see Deb go, 'Ah, this is crazy,'" he said.

Jackman’s joyful celebration comes nearly a year after his separation from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-lee Furness. In September 2023, the couple's announcement of their split made headlines worldwide.

In a statement to People, the couple shared their decision to part ways while emphasizing their enduring love and mutual respect. “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth," they wrote.

"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives. This is the sole statement either of us will make. – Deb and Hugh Jackman,” they added.

The couple, who got married in 1996 after meeting on the set of the Australian TV series 'Corelli', have faced divorce rumors for years, particularly since Jackman's rise to fame as 'Wolverine' in the early 2000s. Despite the speculation, both Jackman and Furness consistently defended their relationship.

In a 2013 joint interview with '60 Minutes', Furness addressed rumors about Jackman's sexuality, saying, “If he was gay, fine, he would say he’s gay. It has gotten so out of whack … it’s stupid, yeah, it’s annoying, because it’s not true.”

Hugh Jackman recently faced a wave of online speculation about his sexuality after he shared a photo of a homemade cake celebrating Pride Month on social media.

Despite the celebratory intent behind the post, trolls quickly seized the opportunity to spread rumors about him being gay. However, fans and supporters of the actor took to Facebook to defend him.

One social media user responded to the speculation with humor, writing, "He hasn’t come out, he just baked a cake to celebrate pride!" Another added, "How brave!!! What an amazing role model!!"

Many supporters pointed out the irrationality of the rumors, emphasizing Jackman’s long history of marriage to Deborra-lee Furness. "I don't think he is gay. He looks pretty normal and he's been married to a woman. Think it's just a cake," one person commented.

Another asked, "So what? He baked and put rainbows on it."

"We love you, Hugh!" one fan wrote.
