LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman found comfort in his grown-up children, Ava and Oscar, following his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness.

The divorce reportedly left the 55-year-old actor quite "sad," but his children stepped up to give their father the much-needed support during the trying times.

Meanwhile, the 'Logan' star recently generated uproar on social media when he posted several weird close-up photos of himself, raising questions about his mental health as his 27-year marriage to Furness came to an end.

A source close to the actor, however, revealed that Jackman has been doing well and getting ready for the release of 'Deadpool & Wolverine', which wrapped up filming at the end of January following an extended delay due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Hugh Jackman's children have grown closer to him after his split with Deborra-Lee Furness

Jackman and Furness tied the knot on April 11, 1996, having first met on the set of the Australian television series 'Correlli' in 1995. They adopted their daughter, Ava, 18, in 2005, and their son, Oscar, 23, in 2000.

In a statement to PEOPLE Magazine, the duo declared their separation in September 2023, stating that their "family has been and always will be our highest priority."

Jackman said of his kids to PEOPLE Magazine in 2018, "My kids are constantly reminded about how lucky we are in our family. We're ridiculously blessed. We live in a beautiful home in places that other people dream of."

Now, his kids, Ava and Oscar, have come forward to support their father in this challenging condition, with one close friend telling the Woman's Day, "They know him better than he does and are constantly surprising him," as per Daily Mail

The insider added, "They've become closer than he could have imagined and he can confide in them, whereas before he'd turn to Deb."

The actor's daughter allegedly started a "save Dad" plan with her brother Oscar after observing her father's signs of sorrow.

"Ava and Oscar [have] really rallied around him and it's made a huge impact. He always looks so happy when he's with those two," noted the source.

The actor's close friends are hoping that his strong relationship with his children will help him get over his current rough patch.

Hugh Jackman appears joyful as he picks up pastries with his daughter Ava

Hugh Jackman recently appeared completely at ease while spending some quality time with his 18-year-old daughter Ava.

The 'Wolverine' actor was beaming as he and his daughter went to Aux Merveilleux de Fred in New York to pick up pastries. They strolled hand in hand under the sun, dressing comfortably for the warm weather, as per HELLO! Magazine.

Jackman donned a baseball cap, trousers, and blue trainers, looking quite stylish, while Ava wore wide-leg jeans, baby-blue Converse sneakers, and sunglasses.

The chic father-daughter duo is rarely spotted together since Jackman likes to keep Ava and Oscar's lives discrete.

"When your focus is innately, deeply, one hundred percent become these kids in your life and their well being it just seems to put everything into perspective. Being a father has taught me so much," told the doting father to PEOPLE Magazine in 2019.
