LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Emma Stone, 35, hit the 2024 Oscars stage on Sunday night, March 10, as she won the award for Best Actress for her film 'Poor Things'.

During the ceremony, Stone caught the attention of Swifties as she used a phrase that also happens to be a Taylor Swift song title.

What did Emma Stone say?

During her speech, a teary-eyed Stone said, “I know I have to wrap up, but I really just want to thank my family  my mom, my brother Spencer, my dad, my husband Dave, I love you so much."

Just before finishing her speech, she mentioned Louise, her daughter with former 'Saturday Night Live' writer Dave McCary, who was born in 2021.

Stone said, “And, most importantly, my daughter, who’s gonna be 3 in three days and has turned our lives technicolor. I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl.”

Swifities were quick to catch on to the reference as Taylor Swift has a song called 'Bigger Than the Whole Sky' on her 2022 deluxe album 'Midnights', which peaked at No 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week after the project’s release. Swift wrote the song solo and co-produced it with her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff.

Meanwhile, this was Stone's fourth major award for 'Poor Things'. She received a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and a Critics Choice Award for her role in the comedy directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Her most recent Oscar win was from her lead performance in 'La La Land' (2016).

Stone recently told NPR that she wouldn't have made it to this point in her Hollywood career without the support of her parents.

"I know that none of this, obviously, would be possible without their support, especially at that age," she said. "I mean, it wasn't like I had graduated high school and I said, 'Okay, bye. I'm taking a plane or taking a bus or driving myself out to LA to try to do this.' It was impossible without their support."

Back in January, Stone won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her performance in 'Poor Things', and got an especially big cheer from Swift, who was in the audience that night.

However, what caught more attention was her interaction with reporters. Stone was asked about Swift’s enthusiasm, and deadpanned, “What an a**hole, am I right?” She added, “I’ve known her for almost 20 years and I was very happy she was there.” Stone also noted, “She was also nominated tonight which was wonderful and, yes, what an a**hole.”

Swifties gush praise over Emma Stone

Several users gushed praise over Emma stone, with a Facebook user writing, "I could feel the love these two women share between each other."

Another user wrote, "I felt they both won. It was very touching!" Someone else said, "One of my absolute favorites. Well deserved." A user said, "Moments like this genuinely appreciative actor is the only reason I watch these types of events."

Meanwhile, someone wrote on X, "EMMA STONE REFERENCING TAYLOR SWIFT IN HER ACCEPTANCE SPEECH YES YES YES." Another said," I love you “bigger than the whole sky” - Emma Stone - Taylor Swift."
