'The View' hosts support Travis Kelce amid Taylor Swift fans' backlash for liking Trump pic
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The hosts of 'The View' were quick to rally around Travis Kelce as he found himself at the center of a storm stirred up by Taylor Swift fans.
The NFL star faced fierce backlash after he casually liked an Instagram post featuring none other than former President Donald Trump, posted by former ESPN anchor Sage Steele.
According to Dailymail, As the show's panel dissected the uproar, Sunny Hostin came to Kelce's defense, suggesting that his like may have been accidental.
"I have a theory, I think this was an accidental like and everybody's been up late at night scrolling.... but I think he may have been scrolling," Hostin speculated.
Hosts dismiss the 'cancel by association' phenomenon as 'crazy' and share hilarious encounters
Sara Haines voiced her frustration with what she termed the "cancel by association" culture, deeming the current state of affairs as "crazy."
"When I like people, whether it's on a like or my friends and family, that is not an endorsement of everything they've said, everything they've done," Haines expressed.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former White House aide, ridiculed attempts by Trump supporters to label Kelce as a covert sympathizer, pointing out his advocacy for causes that contradict Trump's agenda.
"But I also am someone who lives in fear of accidentally liking... I scroll and I've liked things and I'm like, 'No go back and unlike it,'" Griffin shared.
Joy Behar lightened the mood with a humorous anecdote about posing for a photo with members of the Trump family, joking about the absurdity of being judged based on such encounters. "I saw the picture and I thought, 'I have to go into rehab now,'" Behar quipped.

'The View' co-hosts urge return to simpler times amid Kelce controversy
Sara Haines echoed Behar's sentiment, expressing concern over the prevalent cancel culture and highlighting the importance of returning to a time when interactions weren't burdened with such significant consequences.
"Typically when you're posing for a picture or you're doing something, let's let that go back to the good old days when that's all it was because I hate this cancel by association," Haines remarked.
The hosts speculated about Kelce's intentions and his relationship with Steele, suggesting that the like might have been a simple act of support for a friend.
Whoopi Goldberg offered a sage perspective, suggesting that perhaps none of the controversy was truly significant. "It is quite possible that none of this is important," Goldberg mused.
