'I hope she's doing well': Internet concerned as Liza Minnelli makes rare public appearance in wheelchair
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Liza Minnelli made a rare public appearance almost a year after her last public appearance. The ‘Cabaret’ actress was spotted on March 28, returning to her Beverly Hills residence after a night out with friends in Los Angeles.
The 78-year-old was dropped off in a Cadillac sedan and was taken inside the home in a wheelchair by two friends, reports DailyMail.

The celebrated entertainer wore full makeup and dressed in her favorite black attire. Minnelli’s last public outing was back in June, last year when she was snapped leaving a restaurant in West Hollywood.
The ‘Arthur’ star celebrated her 78th birthday on March 12 and talked with People about her journey.
“I am so grateful for all the good wishes and all the love that comes my way. Not only on my birthday, but always,” Minnelli began.
“I wish I knew how to act my age. But kids guess what, I have never been this damn old! Just keep going baby, that's the secret!” she added.
While giving a career update, the excited artist shared, “I am recording music again!”
“And I'm involved in an exciting brand collaboration that will be announced soon.”
Actress's long health battle started in 2000
Liza Minnelli was diagnosed with viral encephalitis in 2000, which made her weak and restricted her movement significantly. Minnelli also has struggled with substance abuse issues, such as alcoholism, and addiction to prescription medication.
Internet reacted to Minnelli's outing in a wheelchair, with many expressing concern.
“I don't think it is nice to publicize people who are now handicapped or otherwise reduced in stature/status,” one concerned fan wrote.
“The vast majority are pleased to know Liza is enjoying life to the extent to which she can,” said a user online.
A person remembered the actress' difficult past, “I hope she's doing well and is happy. She had a very difficult childhood and is an amazingly talented woman.”
Another person said, “I adore her, the younger generations now have no idea who she is, its amazing how all things eventually come to an end.”
A person observed, “Carers, not friends. They're chatting away like she isn't there.”
