On Wednesday, January 24, the 48-year-old star shared a video on his Instagram account where he denied using Ozempic, an FDA-approved medication for people with type 2 diabetes that can also cause weight loss as a side effect.

"You wanna talk about weight loss? I was in the gym, I was working the f**k out, man,” 50 Cent said in the video.

“And they say it’s Ozempic? I was running, I was running, I was doing what I had to do. You seen me on tour.” I was running around,” he added.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, revealed that he went from 253 lbs to 210 lbs thanks to his hard work and dedication.

“I was 253 lbs. I came down and I’m 210 right now. Oww, so how you feel about it?” he asked his fans, People reports.

50 Cent credits abstinence for helping him train harder

The 'In da Club' rapper also attributed his weight loss to his decision to practice abstinence in 2024.

He announced his vow of celibacy in an earlier Instagram post where he wrote, “I’m focused man, practicing abstinence is helping me train harder. I feel great I think more people should try it.”

He explained that he had a “new idea” that was so big that he didn’t have time to be distracted by sex. “I have been meditating and focusing on my goals,” he said.

50 Cent’s fitness journey started after he survived a shooting

His fitness journey started much earlier after he survived a near-fatal shooting in 2000. He was shot nine times and suffered nerve damage that affected his ability to walk.

He told Men’s Health in August 2023 that he started working out to get stronger and prevent another attack. “I’m … working out to get myself stronger, ’cause who’s to say you’re not gonna get hit again?” he said.

He also said that he learned that strength was not just about muscles, but also about mental and physical resilience.

“I put the gym in the middle of the video because, to me, that’s where I looked the coolest,” he said, referring to his debut music video for 'Wanksta.'

“That’s where I learned strong is not all muscle; it’s about being mentally and physically strong,” he added. “When you slim down, you see everything,” he added.
