NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former Vice President Kamala Harris became the target of a blistering segment on 'The Five' on Wednesday, April 22, after investor Mark Cuban publicly distanced himself from a possible Harris 2028 campaign.

During the heated discussion, Fox hosts mocked Harris’s political future, argued donors would abandon her and said Cuban’s cold shoulder could signal deeper problems inside the Democratic field.

Picking up on Cuban’s comments, the panel turned to what they saw as challenges facing Harris if she attempted another White House bid.

The most direct comment came from Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, who said, “I would like to see her lose again.”

Jesse Watters highlighted Cuban’s stance as a business-minded decision, saying, “He’s a businessman, you’re basically looking at the bottom line. She couldn’t cut it. Next.”

He added that some donors might take a similar approach when deciding where to invest politically.

Dana Perino echoed that sentiment, arguing that financial backing would be a key hurdle.

“Money talks. She might run. She’s not going to have any money. Who’s going to throw good money after bad?” she said, suggesting major donors could look elsewhere.

Greg Gutfeld offered a different angle, arguing Cuban’s past support was less about Harris and more about opposition to Donald Trump.

“It was never about Kamala,” he said, adding that Cuban might have believed he could influence her on policy but later changed his view.

The panel’s lone liberal voice, Jessica Tarlov, pushed back, arguing Democrats should focus less on 2028 speculation and more on strengthening their message moving forward.

Mark Cuban says 'No' on Kamala Harris's 2028 Bid

The Fox segment followed comments by Mark Cuban at Politico’s Health Care Summit, where he was asked whether he would support Kamala Harris in a potential 2028 run.

His response was blunt: “No.”

Pressed on Harris’s health care messaging during the 2024 campaign, Cuban added, “Don’t remember, don’t care,” making clear he was not focused on backing specific candidates.

Instead, he said his priority remained policy outcomes, particularly improving the health care system.

The remarks drew attention given Cuban’s earlier role as a surrogate for Harris during her campaign against Donald Trump.
