Ilhan Omar's daughter Isra Hirsi trolled for saying she's 'homeless and hungry' after college suspension
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's daughter Isra Hirsi claimed she has been left "homeless and hungry" following her alleged suspension from Columbia University over anti-Israel protests.
“I was a little bit frantic, like, where am I going to sleep? Where am I gonna go?” she told Teen Vogue, adding, "And also all of my s**t is thrown in a random lot. It’s pretty horrible."

Why was Ilhan Omar's daughter Isra Hirsi arrested?
Opposing the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza, students from Columbia gathered on last Wednesday, April 17, to protest and form an "encampment" on the college's south lawn.
Approximately 24 hours after the camp was formed, Hirsi and several other students were arrested on Thursday morning, April 18, after Columbia President Minouche Shafik halted the demonstration by authorizing the New York Police Department to intervene.
Over 100 protestors were taken into custody and Hirsi confirmed that she had been suspended from Barnard College for "standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide," according to Fox News.
What action did Columbia University take following Isra Hirsi's arrest?
Speaking to Teen Vogue, Hirsi claimed that following the arrest, authorities kept her zip-tied for around seven hours and revealed that she was released from custody eight hours after her arrest.
The 20-year-old activist stated that she was suspended for taking part in the protest and that she has been denied access to the college building, leaving her locked out of on-campus housing and her belongings.
“I have like four shirts, two pairs of pants. I don’t know when I can go home, and I don’t know if I ever will be able to," complained Hisri who has been banned from using the college dining hall and is evicted from the campus.

Following Hirsi's arrest, Omar tweeted that she is "enormously proud" of her daughter."
"She has always led with courage and compassion, from organizing a statewide school walkout on the 20th anniversary of Columbine at the age of 15, to leading the biggest youth climate rally at our nation’s Capitol at 16, and now pushing her school to stand against genocide," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"Stepping up to change what you can’t tolerate is why we as a country have the right to speech, assembly, and petition enshrined in our constitution," she tweeted.

"This is more than the students hoped for and I am glad to see this type of solidarity. But to be clear, this about the genocide in Gaza and the attention has to remain on that," she added.
