LUMBER RIVER STATE PARK, SOUTH CAROLINA: In an emotional video, Mica Miller, the wife of a pastor who tragically took her own life, can be seen opening up about her struggles before her untimely death.

Mica, 30, was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Lumbee River State Park in North Carolina on April 27. Her death occurred just days after serving divorce papers to her husband, John Paul Miller, 44.

The newly surfaced footage appears to show Mica addressing close friends and family, discussing the challenges she was facing. "I've had to keep my circle really small for the past couple of weeks," she can be heard saying. "I'm going through a lot, and it's hard, and it's my cross to bear. It is the thing that God has put in my life to deal with."

"I'm trying to get my priorities straight right now, and that is making sure that my heart doesn't have any unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment. Just forgiveness, and hope for the future, and peace because you can't put a price on peace. Thank you for all your prayers and support, know that I have to keep my circle really small just now. This is the best way I know how."

Following Mica's death, her friends and family held a rally outside the Solid Rock Church, where Pastor Miller serves, demanding "justice for Mica". The pastor himself informed his congregation of his wife's passing during a service, attributing her death to mental health struggles.

Miller, who has a criminal record including multiple counts of aggravated assault and battery to which he pleaded guilty, said, "You all know she wasn't well mentally and that she needed her medicine and it was hard to get to her."

In the days after her death, her friends and family held a rally calling for "justice for Mica" outside the Solid Rock Church where Pastor Miller works.

The pastor stunned his congregants last week when, after a service in which he had laughed and appeared entirely at ease he announced that his wife had died.

Weeks before her passing, she posted a video discussing abuse within marriage, amid emerging claims that she was harassed and feared for her life.

She expressed, "Today my heart's a little heavy. I've had lots of women that have reached out to me about situations of abuse, and I just want to tell you what a lot of people have told me lately, because I think I forgot. But you are the bride of Christ before anybody else's, male or female, it doesn't matter what gender you are, abuse is abuse."

Mica Miller attempted multiple divorce filings

Court records reveal the turmoil in the marriage, with Mica initially filing for divorce in October 2023, only to withdraw the filing on February 12. Later that same month, Miller filed for Separate Support and Maintenance against his wife, a motion withdrawn on March 11.

However, on April 15, just 12 days before her death, Mica filed for divorce once more and, according to friends, also sought a no-contact order against her husband. Additionally, a police report indicates that Mica contacted officers, accusing her husband of sharing an indecent photo of herself on a Facebook group called 'big boobs and nice curves'.

Further, a waitress alleges that Pastor Miller was sending her flirtatious messages while his wife contemplated suicide, even referring to her as "super hot" and requesting "bikini pics". Consequently, Pastor Miller has been relieved of his ministerial duties at Solid Rock at Market Common Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, reported Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, the circumstances surrounding Mica's death have sparked controversy, with friends and family disputing claims of suicide. Some have pointed to evidence suggesting Mica had been planning to end her own life, including surveillance footage showing her purchasing a firearm before traveling to the state park where she was found.

Following this, Mica's black Honda was spotted traveling on Highway 501 near Four Mile Rd, Conway, South Carolina, en route to the state park. Upon arrival, she dialed 911 to relay instructions to a dispatcher on where her body could be located.
