WASHINGTON, DC: While stalwarts of the Democratic Party have been advocating for the party to turn into a big tent that can house both "old guards" and the rising progressive section, the tent doesn't seem to have grown big enough to bring streamer aligned with DSA politics Hasan Piker and Democratic veteran James Carville together.
Carville, who’s spent nearly half a century as a Democratic strategist, made clear he wants no part of a Democratic Party with Hasan Piker in it.
“I am not going to be in the same party with Hasan Piker, I can tell you that right now,” Carville said during a television interview with Fox News on Sunday, August 2. “If he becomes a force in a Democratic Party, I’m out of here. I have no intention of ever being in the political party with that guy.”
“I think that a majority, an overwhelming majority of Democrats agree with me,” Carville said. “But this idea that we’re going to seize the means of production…just go look at the DSA platform. You don’t have to look any further than that.”
James Carville warns Democratic Party could face internal split
The Democratic strategist said the two-party system could face “tremendous stress” in the coming months.
He pointed to an ideological divide on the right, where figures such as Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene have started breaking away from the conservative movement.
“I can’t sit here and tell you for certain how this is going to turn out,” Carville said. “The one thing I can tell you is for certain, Hasan Piker and James Carville are not going to be in the same political party. One of us is going to leave. It might even be me.”
Hasan Piker predicts Socialist victories in more competitive states
Surrounded by reporters, Hasan Piker was asked what he would demand of the Democratic platform.
“Arrest and prosecute every prominent member of the Trump administration that has engaged in corruption. Arrest and prosecute every ICE agent that has committed crimes on the job,” he said.

At a separate event, Piker, while addressing a crowd, boasted about the rise of the socialist wing and vowed to win non-blue states.
He pointed to recent victories by progressive candidates, arguing that critics have repeatedly underestimated the movement.
“At first they said Zohran couldn’t work in New York. He was far too radical. Then we won that race. Then they said that was just a mayoral race, you can’t have an impact in places like Denver or Philadelphia. We won those races too,” he said.

“Now they say you can only win in deep blue districts. I say we are gonna prove them wrong. Not only are we gonna run up going to numbers for Francesca Hong, we are gonna take that victory to the general election to make sure Tom Tiffany never gets a seat of power ever again,” he added.
