Jacob Elordi’s Bath Water candle inspired by bathtub scene in 'Saltburn'
The inspiration behind the candle’s concept can be traced back to a striking scene in Elordi’s latest film 'Saltburn'.
In the psychological thriller directed by Emerald Fennell, Elordi’s character Felix is shown lounging in a bathtub as his co-star Barry Keoghan, playing the obsessive Oliver, furtively sips the bathwater he left behind.
Fans have since taken the depiction of obsession to another level by trying to bottle Elordi’s supposedly intoxicating essence. The 'This Smells Like My Orgasm' candle made famous by Gwyneth Paltrow now has some unexpected company.
The Etsy seller of this new cheeky creation, Side Hustle Vibes, describes it as their homage to Elordi’s undeniable star power and his most royal of fragrances. Buyers can choose from three listed scents to experience Elordi’s bathwater realm for themselves: vanilla, comfort spice, and sea breeze.
Jacob Elordi praises 'Saltburn' director for pushing boundaries in movie
During a recent interview with Stream Wars, Elordi shared his thoughts about the now notorious bathtub scene that inspired the candle. He praised director Fennell for daring to push boundaries in a mainstream movie.
“You don't really see things like that...a lot of the time,” he remarked. “So it's just great that [Fennell] was allowed to kind of push those boundaries and expose people like that.”
While declaring he tries to avoid seeing public reactions to his acting roles, Elordi admitted the candle concept and online chatter surrounding 'Saltburn' amused him. He recounted observing viewers’ invested reactions during a screening.
“Everybody was engaged and sort of gasping at the screen and yelling at the screen and everything like that,” he described. “And I haven't been in a movie like that in a really, really long time.”
