WASHINGTON, DC: Gen Z voters are defecting from the Democratic Party in large numbers ahead of the presidential election in November with President Joe Biden losing the ground to Donald Trump among the historically deep-blue voting bloc.

Former Democrat supporters Becky Oliveira and Grace Guentzel joined 'Fox & Friends' on Tuesday, June 25, to talk about why they left the party and its progressive ideals despite coming from left-wing homes.

What did Democrat supporter Becky Oliveira say?

"I grew up in Queens… in New York… which is, admittedly, a very politically diverse borough, more than people might think," Oliveira told Lawrence Jones on Tuesday, June 25.

"I grew up in this social media culture that was very dominated by left-wing propaganda, for lack of a better word, that was pushed to me through the algorithms and I accepted it wholeheartedly, I loved it. I was very into it until I started to come out of it and realize that a lot of what I believed was very emotional, and not really based in logic or fact," she added, according to Fox News

"So once I started to have that realization, it really all came to a head around 2020 when I started to see how Democratic policies were playing out in my city," she continued. "Cashless bail for one… the riots after the killing of George Floyd… Madison Avenue being completely decimated by… these roving bands of rioters," Oliveira further said.

Donald Trump has gained steam with Gen Z voters

A Fox News poll indicates that Trump's support among Gen Z voters has increased by 10% since 2020 while Biden's support has decreased by 7%. The same poll shows that among young voters, Biden still leads Trump by 8%.

Becky Oliveira says she 'will be voting for Donald Trump in November'

Oliveira used to be a "leftist and radical feminist" who was distraught when former President Trump won his first term. Now, she finds it impossible to vote for anyone else these days. "I will be voting for Donald Trump in November because we can't have four more years of what's been going on," Oliveira said, adding "It's completely destroyed the country, it's destroying our futures."

Another Democrat considers herself as Republican after deviating from family's political ideology

Despite growing up in a progressive home, Guentzel now identifies as a Republican, departing from her parents' political views.

"For me, it really came down to just looking at the nuance and doing my own research," Guentzel said.

She added, "I feel like I surrounded myself with a lot of Democrats and was kind of in that culture, so it was normal for me. But I think once I started to do my research and understand the nuance, because I kind of saw things as very one-sided, but once I kind of got out of that like cycle and stopped only surrounding myself with one kind of people, I think I started kind of leaving the hole that I was in and came more towards the right."

She stated clearly that she will not be supporting Biden for a second term even though she is still unsure of whom to vote for in November. "For me, I just know that I won't be voting for Joe Biden because I know we can't have another four years of open borders and things of that nature," she said.

Internet says the young minds 'are finally waking up'

Netizens supported the two young former Democrat supporters after they expressed their frustration with the present government. One X user tweeted, "Trump should pivot away for Israel. Young people are fed up with our tax dollars funding a genocide. He would gain tons of young voters."

Another wrote, "They just can't find a good paying job under Biden's economy." "That's what the Democrat party excels at: propaganda. They promise utopia and it turns into the exact opposite," commeted a user. "This is big news. They were indeed mislead and the war in the Middle East is going to make it even more apparent to them," added one.
