WASHINGTON, DC: Jamaal Bowman, D-NY, referred to Nikki Haley as a "disgusting human being" on Wednesday, May 29, after she signed Israeli bombs while visiting the nation over the Memorial Day weekend.

"That is gross, that is disgusting, and Nikki Haley should be ashamed of herself," Bowman said after images of Haley signing "Finish them!" on artillery shells in Israel went viral online, Fox News reports.

Israel's permanent representative to the UN, Danny Danon, shared the post on social media featuring Haley touring Israel and signing shells while having meetings with military officials and survivors of the October 7 attacks.

Jamaal Bowman lambasts Nikki Haley on national television

"Nikki Haley is disgusting," Bowman said on CNN, adding "She is a disgusting human being to do that. That's genocidal language and it's the language that has the American people turning against our government."

"Why do we continue to support, not just the consistent attacks on Gaza, but the forever wars?" he asked during the media appearance. "There are people in our country, their entire lives, me included, it seems like we're constantly at war with someone, spending trillions, killing millions, while people are suffering and starving and dying right here in our country," he continued.

Jamaal Bowman urges President Joe Biden to stop the war

Bowman, a well-known proponent of an Israel-Hamas cease-fire, also urged President Joe Biden to withdraw his backing for Israel in its ongoing conflict.

"US weapons are burning infant children alive and so he has to respond," Bowman told CNN's Abby Phillip, adding "We can not send another weapon or another dollar to Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu at this point because they have been moving forward with what the ICJ has called a plausible genocide, and everyone sees it. My district sees it, the country sees it."

"We have to stop and we need a permanent cease-fire," he added.

Israel's attack on the camp near Gaza’s Rafah claims 21 lives

Just days after an Israeli strike on another camp drew international condemnation, Palestinian medical officials and the official Palestinian news agency reported that at least 21 people had died in Israeli attacks on a tent camp housing displaced families in al-Mawasi, close to Gaza's southern city of Rafah.

Medical officials in the Palestinian enclave reported that women made up at least 12 of the victims killed in Tuesday's attacks in Rafah governorate, as per Al Jazeera. In a telegram post, the Gaza health ministry reported that 64 people were injured in the attack, with 10 of them in critical condition. According to WAFA news agency, the area was hit by Israeli air strikes.

The Israeli military, however, denied conducting a strike in al-Mawasi. “Contrary to the reports from the last few hours, the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) did not strike in the Humanitarian Area in Al-Mawasi,” the military said in a statement, according to the outlet.

Israel previously designated Al-Mawasi as a humanitarian area

Israel previously designated Al-Mawasi, in western Rafah, as a humanitarian area to which Palestinians should evacuate for their safety. “Israeli forces targeted another makeshift tent [area] where most of the people were women and children,” Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary said, reporting from Deir el-Balah.

"Palestinians do not trust Israeli forces because every time they reallocate, they get targeted," Khoudary remarked, making reference to the families who had fled from other parts of the territory to the south of Gaza in order to escape bombardment. “There’s simply no area that is safe across the Gaza Strip,” she said.

“There are no hospitals in Rafah. All the injured and the dead bodies have been transferred to the International Medical Corps field hospital. There are no ambulances," she added.

Joe Biden has threatened to withhold weapons from Israel

Biden has threatened to withhold weapons from Israel if it continues with the onslaught on Rafah.

The president, during an interview with CNN released Wednesday, May 29, said, "Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of those bombs" and that he has made clear to Israel "if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities – that deal with that problem."

Internet backs Jamaal Bowman's criticism of Nikki Haley

Netizens also showed strong support for the 48-year-old after he lashed out at Nikki Haley. One X user penned, "I would have gone with deplorable." Another said, "The only thing the left can do well is disparage, smear, and call people names. Experts at character assassination. These are the kind of people we want leading us? No solutions at all, just fear of losing their power."

"He's right, that was insane," supported one user and another tweeted, "She was the US Ambassador to the United Nations signing a bomb. She is a disgrace." "It is beyond disgusting and disgraceful... But mostly dangerous mindset," opined one user.
