SDEROT, ISRAEL: Nikki Haley, the former US Ambassador to the United Nations, found herself at the center of a firestorm after signing a bomb destined for Gaza during a visit to Israel over Memorial Day weekend, Mediaite reported.

The inflammatory act, which took place amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, drew widespread condemnation from critics who deemed it insensitive and a potential escalation of tensions in the volatile region.

Nikki Haley writes 'finish them' on Israeli bomb

Haley spent her Memorial Day weekend in Israel, visiting areas devastated by the Hamas attack earlier in October of 2023. While touring the affected regions, Haley engaged with local communities and expressed her solidarity with Israel.

In a notable and controversial moment, Haley signed a bomb with the message "Finish them!" above a statement of unity between the US and Israel.

During a press conference, Haley accused Russia and China of aiding Iran and Hamas in orchestrating the deadly attack on southern Israel, which resulted in over 1,000 deaths and numerous kidnappings.

She stated, "It was orchestrated by Iran. It was helped with Russian intelligence. And it was fueled by money from China. Don’t deny that."

Despite her strong accusations, Haley did not provide concrete evidence to support her claims.

Nevertheless, it is known that Russia hosted Hamas leaders following the attack and has been a vocal critic of Israel's military actions in Gaza, which have resulted in significant casualties among both civilians and Hamas fighters.

Nikki Haley warns October 7-style attack could happen in US too

Nikki Haley warned that a similar attack could happen in the United States if vigilance dwindles. She later shared her experiences on X (formerly Twitter), including an encounter with Tali Biner, a survivor of the Nova music festival massacre.

Haley penned, “Like my daughter, Tali Biner is a nurse in her 20s who loves music and her friends. But, her life changed forever at the Nova Music Festival. For hours she hid, praying not to be next, listening to fellow concertgoers beg for mercy as they were raped, genitally mutilated, and shot to death by Hamas."

"When she escaped, she tried to treat victims who were butchered and left to slowly die. Now, she bravely tells her story to bear witness for the hundreds who can’t — raped, tortured, kidnapped, and murdered simply for being Israeli," she continued.

Haley’s bomb signing occurred a day after an Israeli strike on Rafah resulted in the deaths of at least 45 people. The strike caused makeshift tents, housing displaced Gazans, to catch fire rapidly. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the incident as a "tragic accident" on Monday, May 27, as the death toll rose and international criticism mounted.
