LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Renowned author JK Rowling declared that she would never forgive 'Harry Potter' stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson after criticizing celebrities who "cozied up to a movement intent on eroding women's hard-won rights."

Rowling has been outspoken in her opposition to letting children change their gender, while Radcliffe and Watson have been strongly public in their support of the trans community, per Daily Mail.

Following the long-awaited release of the Cass report on gender therapy in the UK, the multimillionaire author aimed at celebrities who use their "platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors."

Rowling, an outspoken advocate for women's rights, declared that those who encouraged gender transitioning in minors have to provide an apology to "traumatized detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces."

She took to social media on Wednesday, April 10, to react to a new independent study published by the British National Health Service.

The study has "no good evidence on the long-term outcomes of interventions to manage gender-related distress," per Dr Hilary Cass.

Rowling shared her thoughts on the report in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). She declared that she was "bloody angry" and attacked everyone who was "complicit" in the "irreversible" trauma that transitioning youngsters suffered, including doctors and "celebrity mouthpieces."

Dr Cass stated in her assessment that the toxicity in the debate over the topic has become "exceptional" and that there is a "lack of high-quality research" on the effects of providing youngsters with hormones and puberty blockers.

In response, a fan stated they were waiting on franchise actors like Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe to issue an apology for their advocacy of transgender rights and the author expressed her thoughts on that.

The fan wrote that Watson and Radcliffe would be "safe in the knowledge that [JK] will forgive them." However, the author did not agree.

Rowling added: "Not safe, I'm afraid. Celebs who cozied up to a movement intent on eroding women's hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatized detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces."

For the unversed, Watson and Radcliffe expressed their support for the transgender community in 2020 in response to Rowling's contentious social media posts.

Watson took to Twitter to show her support for her trans fans by saying: "Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren’t who they say they are."

Rowling revealed in 2023 how committed she was to her anti-trans views and also discussed the opinions of her admirers on the matter.

Internet supports JK Rowling's anti-trans stance

Social media users flocked to X to express their support for the 'Harry Potter' author, with one stating, "J.K.’s on the right side of history."

Another one added, "If it wasn’t for JK Rowling none of these actors would have achieved success."

"Quite right too. Her books made these 2 virtue signallers millions and they have disowned her," an X user wrote in part of their post.

Another JK Rowling fan took to the comment section of the author's post to express gratitude and said, "Thank you for your voice of sanity! Where are the other sane celebs? Are there none?"

One more wrote in part, "You have been a beacon of hope for us ordinary women, bewildered by the speed with which our hard-won rights are being turned back."

"Too right JK. It’s one thing to cheer on some benign movement because it looks good at your dinner party. Cheering on the harm being done to children, when 000’s of women and LGB people are telling you children are being harmed, is unforgivable," explained another one.

"The families of the children and young adults who have been harmed are probably not feeling too forgiving either," chimed in one more.
