'Too little too late, traitor': Internet blasts ex-RNC chair Ronna McDaniel for admitting Biden won 2020 election 'fair and square'

WASHINGTON, DC: Former Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has finally admitted that President Joe Biden won the 2020 election "fair and square," Newsweek reported.

McDaniel, who NBC News hired as a political analyst recently after she resigned from RNC, made the remarks in a pre-recorded interview on the portal's 'Meet the Press' with Kristen Welker on Sunday, March 24.

"He won, he is the legitimate president, fair and square. He won, it's certified, it's done," she said.

Before the interview, Welker disclosed that it was scheduled weeks before the announcement of McDaniel becoming an employee at NBC News. Her acknowledgment of former president Donald Trump's loss in the 2020 election is a one-eighty-degree turn from her previous remarks.

In an interview on CNN in July 2023, the ex-RNC chair said she did not believe the incumbent "won it fair."

Ronna McDaniel claims there were problems in the 2020 election

Despite admitting Joe Biden's victory, the former RNC chair, the niece of top GOP Senator Mitt Romney, said, "I do think it's fair to say there were problems in 2020. And to say that does not mean he is not the legitimate president."

McDaniel further reasoned her stance by stating, "This is a viewpoint of a lot of Republicans, and they think Joe Biden's the president. But they also think there were problems, and both can be true."

"Saying there's concerns about the election doesn't mean he didn't win, and that's the only thing I'm going to say," she added.

However, she had sided with Trump days after Biden's 2020 victory to allegedly pressure two Wayne County canvassers in Michigan to refrain from signing the 2020 election certification, as per a phone call recording obtained by The Detroit News.

Trump installed his allies Michael Whatley and his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chairs of the RNC after McDaniel stepped down from the position earlier this month after serving since 2017.

Internet slams Ronna McDaniel for back-tracking on her claims

Ronna McDaniel faced intense heat online for backtracking from her long-time claim against Biden's 2020 victory.

One social media user said, "She's deplorable," while another remarked, "Too little too late, traitor."

"The shifting sands of Ronna McDaniel's statements do not change the lies she has been telling for years. She will never "rehabilitate" herself as a honest, decent person," a third user stated.

One response read, "She finally found out she wasn't going to get the VP job."

"Her redemption tour has begun," someone else chimed in.

One individual commented on Facebook, "So she deserves a free pass? ....I think not. Echoing propaganda to support Sedition should not be so quickly put aside," while another added, "All she is doing is making herself look bad at this point."
