Internet calls Taylor Swift ‘gracious’ for chatting with Tony Romo after his recent slip-ups

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND: In a light-hearted moment from the NFL's championship weekend, video captured pop icon Taylor Swift chatting with broadcaster Tony Romo on the field after the Kansas City Chiefs' big playoff victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Romo gained some notoriety this past season for his on-air gaffes, repeatedly referring to Swift as Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's "wife". But any awkwardness over those viral gaffes was absent during Swift and Romo's brief sideline exchange on Sunday, January 28. Clearly there is no lingering bad blood, as per OK Magazine.

Taylor Swift strikes conversation with Tony Romo post Chiefs' win over Ravens

Video footage shows Swift, 34, and Romo, 43, smiling and talking on the field after the Chiefs defeated the Ravens to advance to the Super Bowl. Apparently, Swift complimented Romo, telling him, "You do a great job."

To this, Romo replied that she is doing even better in her career.

"Well, we’re doing very different things, aren’t we?" Swift replied with a smile. "It’s a different skill set."

"Yeah," Romo said before their brief exchange ended with a friendly fist bump as Swift headed off to celebrate with her boyfriend Kelce and the Chiefs.

The conversation seemed free of tension despite Romo's gaffes during Chiefs games this season. On at least two occasions, Romo referred to Swift as Kelce’s "wife," forcing him to then clarify she was his girlfriend.

"As you see, Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience — er, I’m sorry. Girlfriend!" Romo said in one instance, as the camera showed Swift cheering in the stands. His broadcast partner jumped in to joke, "Not yet."

Romo made a similar slip-up once more during the season, referring to Swift as Kelce’s wife before correcting himself to say "girlfriend".

Romo and Jim Nantz called the game for CBS and captured Kelce's thrilling performance that sent the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. Swift had been enthusiastically cheering for Kelce from a luxury suite and joined him on the field for celebration after the epic win.
