'A wellspring of idiocy': Internet discredits Trump's nonchalant claim that 'CIA was probably behind' John F Kennedy's assassination

WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump casually stated that the CIA was "probably" behind the assassination of former President John F Kennedy during an interview on the 'All-In Podcast' on Thursday, June 20, according to Mediaite.

The Republican presumptive nominee made a surprising statement after asserting that he had been instructed not to reveal the files concerning Kennedy from his time in the Oval Office.

When questioned about why he hadn't released all the related files despite his promise to do so, Trump stated that he had "released a lot," but encountered resistance from some of his former staffers.

"They asked me not to do it, and I'm saying, 'Why? Tell me why?' And they said, 'Sir, I think it needs a little more time.' And I released a lot, but I said, if they feel so strongly, I respect the people and would have done that again, but this time I'm just gonna do it," the real estate mogul recalled a purported conversation.

Trump revives CIA conspiracy theory on JFK assassination

One of the hosts asked Trump to comment on independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr's assertions about the CIA's alleged role in his uncle's assassination.

"Well, this wasn't CIA that asked me, but I think CIA was probably behind it. They would've preferred that I not release the rest of it," the MAGA spearhead declared.

He reiterated his promise to release all files on JFK "early on," suggesting he had an idea of their contents and believed they would be "very interesting" to the public.

Kennedy Jr, in a radio interview in 2023, claimed that there was "overwhelming evidence" to prove the CIA's role in his uncle's killing, and it was "beyond a reasonable doubt," as per The Hill.

Although Lee Harvey Oswald was identified as the gunman who shot the former president during a Dallas parade in 1963, the assassination sparked some of history's most famous conspiracy theories.

Internet dismisses Trump's claims of CIA's role in JFK's assassination as 'nonsense'

Netizens discredited Trump's nonchalant declaration that the CIA was probably responsible for the former president's assassination.

"Trump is a wellspring of idiocy. And only getting worse…," a user commented below the Mediaite article.



 

Another said, "Trump is sooooo desperate to divert attention from his criminality and increasingly obvious mental deterioration. He’s gonna be throwing everything out there."

A user added, "Trump watches more TV than anyone living in a nursing home, you can always tell what he's watching by the nonsense he is spewing."

"Everything he says is on a whim he calls 'instinct.' No proof is necessary, just instinct," a user wrote on X.

Another remarked, "So he just threw a valuable government agency under the bus, yet another proof that he's a TRAITOR."



 



 

Meanwhile, someone else chimed in, "Trump is a crook, never believe a word he says."

"This is a pretty foolish statement. Either he knows, or he doesn't. Apparently, he does not. So making this kind of remark is irresponsible," an individual opined.

Another person wrote, "Trump is an idiot making up lies - unfit for office."
