WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance created waves on social media after a heated televised confrontation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday, February 28.

The pre-meeting in front of the press at the White House went off the rails as Trump and Vance berated the Ukrainian president, according to Newsweek.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky was at the White House to sign an agreement on sharing Ukraine's mineral riches and discuss a peace deal with Russia, per the outlet.

But during the Friday meeting, Trump, Vance and Zelensky had a heated back and forth in the Oval Office and Vance ended up accusing the Ukrainian president of "doing propaganda tours".

Vance told Zelensky that the war had to be ended through diplomacy. Zelensky responded by asking, "What kind of diplomacy?"

The vice-president then accused Zelensky of being disrespectful and "litigating" the situation in front of the media.

Vance said, "Mr President, with respect. I think it's disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media."

The VP continued, "You guys are forcing conscripts to the frontlines because you have manpower problems. You should be thanking the president."

Zelensky told Vance, "Have you ever been to Ukraine?" to which Vance shot back, "You bring people on a propaganda tour. Do you think it's respectful to come to the US Oval Office and attack the administration that's trying to prevent the destruction of your country?"

Vance continued, "You went to Pennsylvania and campaigned for the opposition in October. Offer some words of appreciation for The United States Of America and the president who is trying to save your country."

The Ukrainian president replied, "Everybody has problems, even you, but you have a nice ocean and don't feel it now - but you will feel it in the future."

Meanwhile, Trump interjected, "Don't tell us what we're going to feel. We're trying to solve a problem. Don't tell us what we're going to feel."

The US president continued, "You're in no position to dictate what we're gonna feel. You're right now, not in a very good position. You don’t have the cards right now."

The discussion escalated quickly, as both Trump and Vance accused Zelensky of being ungrateful for the three years of US support during the war with Russia.

Trump told Zelensky, "You’re gambling with World War III. It's going to be very hard to do business like this. You've got to be more thankful."
