Internet lashes out at Bill Maher as host swears he 'won’t go nuts again’ if Trump wins election
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Maher has made a bold declaration regarding his reaction to a potential second term for Donald Trump.
During a recent episode of his 'Club Random' podcast with Jerry Seinfeld, the comedian expressed his stance on the current state of affairs, emphasizing that he won't succumb to anxiety if Trump returns to the White House.
Bill Maher's blunt reality check on global crises and Trump's return to office
Maher, known for his candid commentary, didn't hold back as he lightly ribbed those who seem overly consumed by global crises such as climate change, impending wars, and the prospect of Trump reclaiming office. He pointed out the irony of dining luxuriously while some lament the end of the world.
"I’m sitting having dinner with people and they’re like, the world’s ending. I’m like, look around you, you f**k, you dumbass," Maher said. "We’re at this f**king awesome restaurant, they’re bringing us this food, this dinner’s probably going to cost $700 and I’m not even going to f**king blink at paying the check. Shut the f**k up about how terrible things are."
Maher emphasized he won't let Trump's potential victory in the next election disrupt his equilibrium. "I’m not going to lose my nervous system about Trump again. If he ends the world, he’s going to end the world. I’m not gonna f**king go nuts again if he wins another term. I just can’t," he asserted.
Seinfeld and Maher discuss election anxiety and career shifts
"I hope you have that wherewithal," Seinfeld responded, adding he’s "trying to stay right there" with his feelings about the election.
"Or you can get anxious like a millennial," Maher added.
"Exactly," Seinfeld said.
Maher also revealed his decision to step away from stand-up comedy after one final comedy special this year, citing a desire to focus more on his show and podcast, acknowledging the evolving expectations of his audience.
"After 40 years, that’s why I don’t want to make an announcement. ‘This is my final…’ I might change my mind. It might be like cutting off a limb, and I have to go back to it," Maher explained.
