WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's re-election campaign shared a video of former President Donald Trump pledging to repeal the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, framed during the Barack Obama administration.

The Biden campaign came up with the video originally put together by MSNBC after the GOP presumptive nominee flip-flopped on his previous stance to terminate the ACA, according to Newsweek.

The Biden-Harris HQ shared the one-minute-long video on X, which has amassed more than 300K views so far, with the caption, "MSNBC plays a montage of Donald Trump promising to terminate the Affordable Care Act."

What does the montage say?

The video clips contain eight instances Trump's his 2016 presidential campaign, during his time in office and after leaving the White House and seeking a second term, in which Trump vowed to terminate Obamacare.

In the first remark from January 2016, the former president said, "We are gonna create great health care. We are gonna get rid of Obamacare. We are gonna terminate it." Repeating the same during a November 2016 campaign speech in Florida, he described Obamacare as a "boring subject," which is a "waste of time."

In another instance from 2018, while he was in office, Trump declared, "We are decimating Obamacare," and in a 2020 interview, he argued it was "defective."

In December 2023, at a Nevada campaign rally, the White House hopeful criticized late Sen John McCain's iconic thumbs-down vote in 2017, where he voted no to repealing the ACA.

Despite all his previous rants about killing Obamacare, Trump reversed his stance in late March through a Truth Social post filled with misspellings.

"I'm not running to terminate the ACA, AS CROOKED JOE BUDEN [sic] DISINFORMATES [sic] AND MISINFORMATES [sic] ALL THE TIME, I'm running to CLOSE THE BORDER, STOP INFLATION, MAKE OUR ECONOMY GREAT, STRENGTHEN OUR MILITARY, AND MAKE THE ACA, or OBAMACARE, AS IT IS KNOWN, MUCH BETTER, STRONGER, AND FAR LESS EXPENSIVE," the GOP presumptive nominee wrote pledging he would make it "MUCH, MUCH, MUCH BETTER FOR FAR LESS MONEY."

Meanwhile. President Joe Biden has frequently claimed his predecessor would cut entitlement programs, including Social Security and Medicare, if elected in November. Trump made several futile attempts to repeal the ACA during his term in the White House, which the Supreme Court rejected.

Internet mocks Biden's campaign

Netizens ridiculed the Biden campaign for sharing the video of Trump's past remarks about Obamacare.

One user wrote, "He's got better stuff on his agenda, oh, you didn't know that?"

"Heard this from reps for 15 years," another person remarked. Meanwhile, a third user added, "Shit, you don't need to sell him harder. I was already gonna vote for him to spite the left."

A fourth response read, "Tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, not just edited outtakes. Trump wanted a fair and equitable replacement for the current Obamacare program. Actually make it affordable, allow everyone be access to healthcare, and allow you to keep your doctor."

"So after this passed, what is more affordable? Com on man!!!! Let us know....." someone else asked the Biden campaign.
