Internet mockingly names Shaquille O'Neal 'Mr sensitive' for dissing Shannon Sharpe in his new track
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: If Kendrick Lamar and Drake's latest rap feud has set a visual treat for the song fanatics, then Shaquille O'Neal also did not want to leave sports fans behind as the NBA legend took a shot at Shannon Sharpe in a diss track of his own.
The 52-year-old took aim at Sharpe amid their back-and-forth by releasing the track on May 10.
Origins of the feud between Shaquille O'Neal and Shannon Sharpe
The beef between the two sports media figures had its origins from the time when the former NFL star accused O'Neal of being jealous of Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic earlier this week.
After Jokic won his third NBA MVP title in four years on Thursday, May 8, O'Neal interviewed him for 'Inside the NBA', ultimately telling Jokic, 29, that he thought the award should have instead gone to another player, Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Shannon Sharpe didn't like Shaquille O'Neal's remark on MVP winner Nikola Jokic
Sharpe, who found the comment to be in poor taste, shared on his podcast 'The Nightcap' that he believes O'Neal, who has one MVP trophy from his time in the league, was partly "envious of that," referring to Jokic's growing list of MVP accolades.
After O'Neal already slammed Sharpe on Instagram for not being "ranked in the top 10" of his own "profession," he's since returned with a few rhymes to make his case.

"Your whole demeanor is faker than new rapper beefy/ You’re soft before you get fly, you’d rather tweet me/ I was in three different cars when you was in three feet/ All I see is dollar signs, they coming in 3-D,” O'Neal raps per People. “Make it hot, ain’t no way around my degrees/ You are not in my spot, you are like a peewee."
"I’ve got him calling me Rocky the way I RiRi. I get to the green bag, I don’t mean a lawnmower/ Jet flying, foreign driving, best buying, downpour," he continues. Elsewhere in the song, O'Neal says he's "proved" he's "the best," and calls Sharpe's podcast a "bulls*** podcast."
Shaquille O'Neal' caption for his new song
O'Neal also shared a caption for his new song, in which he tagged the likes of diss track veterans 50 Cent and Rick Ross. "You can never break the UNBreakable. and to all the people that know both of us don’t call me, it will never [be] a sit down" he says.
Shaquille O'Neal is a very capable rapper
O'Neal's musical approach should come as no surprise to '90s hip-hop fans, as the NBA legend famously saw success with his platinum 1993 debut album, 'Shaq Diesel' (among later records), and has collaborated with the likes of Phife Dawg and The Notorious B.I.G throughout his rap career.
Back in December, Rick Ross told the outlet about how much he respects "[O'Neal's] gift" as a rapper, and what it was like to gift O'Neal a Maybach Music Group chain.
