NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: New photos of Hillary Clinton emerged in New York City this week, marking her first public appearance since the recent unsealing of court documents detailing husband Bill Clinton's alleged ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The former first lady seemed to have just returned from a vacation in Latin America. But rather than a joyful homecoming, Hillary seems to be lying low amid renewed interest in Bill's alleged friendship with Epstein, the disgraced financier who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, per Daily Mail.

The sight of Hillary holding such a book while her husband faces renewed criticism over his alleged Epstein ties raised eyebrows across social media. Hillary made her way to an Upper East Side apartment and then proceeded to indulge in lunch at the Central Park restaurant, Marea, upon return to New York.

The Epstein documents putting Bill back in hot water were unveiled as part of a 2015 defamation lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre, who alleges Epstein trafficked her as a teenager to powerful men for sex.

Though none of the records contain misconduct allegations against Bill himself, they do reference his travels on Epstein's private jet and alleged friendly relationship with the sex offender.

One victim also alleges Epstein once claimed Bill "likes them young." This and other revelations in the cache of documents have led to widespread public anger over figures like Bill, Prince Andrew, and Donald Trump ever associating with Epstein.

As interest mounted regarding Bill's alleged ties to Epstein, the former president and his wife had decamped to Mexico for an end-of-year vacation. The well-heeled couple visited lavish spots like the Four Seasons Resort Costa Palmas, where rooms can run $800 per night.

There, the Clintons were spotted zipping around in a golf cart and dining alongside California Governor Gavin Newsom during several carefree days in the sun.

Internet reacts to Hillary Clinton's first public appearence since release of Epstein list

Predictably, the photo of Hillary holding a tell-all memoir about 'shame and secrecy' prompted a flurry of reactions online. One X commentator expressed, "So very strange."

Meanwhile, another user wittily remarked, "Wow, Hillary sure knows how to pick her reading material!" A third individual voiced deeper concerns, stating, "There is so much 'off' about that entire family, including her and what she's actually been involved in over the years. There needs to be a deep dive and an exposure to all she's been involved in."

Another critic questioned the apparent nonchalance of the Clintons, commenting, "Now they go about like nothing happened and just expect us to forget about everything, tell me why again these people are still moving freely?"

Intriguingly, a fifth user raised security-related queries, asking, "Why does she have so much security?" Concluding the array of reactions, a sixth user remarked, "Wow, seems like the Clintons just can't catch a break, huh?"
