Internet outraged as R Kelly prosecutor says Cassie Ventura may have sparked Diddy's sex trafficking probe

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: R Kelly's prosecutor has reportedly suggested that the recent raids and the trafficking probe against Sean 'Diddy' Combs, more commonly known as Diddy, was the result of his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura’s accusations against him.

Nadia Shihata during an interview with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation said, as reported by OK! Magazine, “I think Cassie was likely probably one of the first people that prosecutors and agents spoke with in this investigation.”

Explaining further, Shihata noted, “No reasonable prosecutor is just going to rely on allegations in a civil complaint.

“But they will have met with her in all likelihood, assessed her credibility, received corroborating information from her, and then sought to corroborate her information in other ways, and, so, I suspect that she may have been the spark for this investigation.”

Cuomo also spoke with criminal defense lawyer Mark Geragos during the same interview as he asked him his thoughts on the whole controversy and if the law enforcement officials “are going to look for a lot more beyond” Ventura’s allegations.

The attorney reportedly shared, “This federal investigation seems to have used the civil lawsuits, and starting with hers, as a roadmap. In order to get the search warrant, I'm sure they went to her or approached her or her lawyer ... They came to some kind of an agreement there.”

“She then testifies or she makes a proffer or she cooperates in giving a statement. They use that to get this the search warrants. But none of that, to me, is surprising,” Geragos noted

Cuomo then mentioned that the whole scenario in Diddy’s case does not look normal.

To which, Shihata remarked, “Look, none of this is ordinary. Certainly, they went in with a lot of firepower. That's not something you normally see in cases, but I'd be hesitant to say that nothing is happening.”

“There is, I suspect, a lot happening behind the scenes, not in public view,” she added.

Diddy’s lawyer called out authorities

This came after Diddy’s two mansions in Los Angeles and Miami were raided in late March.

Following the raids, the rapper’s lawyer Aaron Dyer blasted the authorities via a statement.

He added, “This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. Mr Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”

People doubt Cassie Ventura’s intention

Meanwhile, Ventura’s apparent involvement has attracted some attention online with a user writing on Facebook, “She got everything she wanted and now she turning on him.”

Another user shared, “She got the money and still said I'm telling on you b****.”

“Fellas the game has changed now you can be a victim for ten years straight!!!!!! This is crazy,” the third one shared.

The fourth user said, “How is Cassie allowed to sue when she dated him after he paid her off, that alone says she's lying...just like all the rest of them…”

“Honestly there inside reaping the benefits and rewards then complain and snitch when on the outside 😆,” the fifth one added.
