Internet praises Derek Hough's wife Hayley Erbert as she is set to return to dance tour after craniectomy

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hayley Erbert will be making a triumphant return to the stage with her husband, Derek Hough, on tour four months after she underwent an emergency craniectomy.

On Friday, April 5, the duo announced that they will be performing together on the 'Symphony of Dance' tour which will resume on April 14 in Melbourne, Florida.

Speaking about her return to the stage, Erbert told People, "I am just so excited to get back out and dance again after having something so traumatic happen."

Following a tour performance in Washington, DC, the 29-year-old was taken to a hospital where her blood vessel burst led to the diagnosis of a cranial hematoma in December 2023.

To "replace a large portion of her skull," Erbert underwent a cranioplasty surgery a week after the craniectomy.

The 'Dancing with the Stars' judge postponed his tour to support Erbert during her recovery process.

In February, Hough announced new tour dates but it was unclear if Herbert would rejoin him.

"Dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and so I'm just really excited to get out there and do what I love and also to see the people that have supported me throughout this entire healing journey," said Erbert.

Hough shared that he and Erbert are not rushing anything as she continues to recover.

"We've had extensive conversations and tests and results from different doctors," said Hough.

"Every kind of doctor that you can think about from our original surgeon who did the surgeries to new people in our lives and they are very supportive," he added.

Hough further noted that his wife is surrounded by an "amazing team" of doctors who ensures that she is "good and healthy."

"She's all clear and we're all just amazed by her and can't wait to go out there and put on a great show and an emotional show," he added.

As Erbert announced she would rejoin her husband on the tour four months after her brain surgery, netizens praised her determination and expressed excitement for her return.
