Hayley Erbert 'unbelievably proud of' husband Derek Hough's Emmy win amid 'unfathomable' health battle

In her Instagram carousel of three pictures of the couple, Erbert wrote, "What a way to be welcomed home after such an unfathomable month."
"@derekhough, you continue to amaze me with your drive, brilliance, and commitment to excellence," she wrote.
"I have loved being able to witness and be a part of your journey this far and cannot wait to see what else the future holds," she added.
"I love you more than anything and am so unbelievably proud of you, today and always," concluded the professional dancer.

Derek Hough dedicated the award to his wife Hayley Erbert
While he accepted his fourth Emmy on Sunday, January 7, the 'Dancing With The Stars' judge praised his wife Erbert for her strength and courage throughout the challenging period of her recovery.
"Exactly a month ago, I was in the hospital. A month ago was a life-changing moment that reminded me to really cherish and savor every moment," Hough said tearfully.

"I want to dedicate this to my beautiful wife. Your strength and your courage this whole month have been unbelievable. You inspired me every day," he continued.
What happened to Hayley Erbert?
In December 2023, Erbert required an emergency craniectomy when she and Hough were on their Symphony of Dance tour.
The surgery was done after she was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel, according to E! News.
Following the surgery on December 7, she underwent another surgery and Hough gave their followers an update on her health battle.
He shared that the second surgery had been "successfully completed as planned." The couple who have been together since 2015 celebrated their first holiday together as a married couple in December 2023.
"Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! Cherishing the greatest gift of all," the duo captioned their Instagram post on December 25.
"The precious gift of life and the love we share. Hold your loved ones close and treasure every moment," read their post featuring a picture of them kissing in front of a Christmas tree.

Hough and Erbert got engaged in June 2022 and tied the knot in August 2022 in California.
