NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, April 17, to announce his support for the funding bills that seek to aid Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, and urge the Congress to pass them within the week.

The plan for the bills in question was shared by House Speaker Mike Johnson on Monday, April 15, when he tweeted, "This week, we will consider separate bills with a structured and germane amendment process to: Fund our ally Israel; Support Ukraine in its war against Russian aggression; Strengthen our allies in the Indo-Pacific; Pass additional measures to counter our adversaries and strengthen our national security."

The package seeks to replace the Senate's version of similar supplemental legislation, which was passed in February but was withheld in the House.

From the official account of POTUS, the incumbent wrote, "I strongly support the national security package in the House of Representatives that supports Israel and Ukraine, provides humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, and bolsters security and stability in the Indo-Pacific."

"The House must pass the package this week and the Senate should quickly follow," he continued. "I will sign this into law immediately to send a message to the world: We stand with our friends, and we won’t let Iran or Russia succeed."

Internet reacts to Joe Biden's tweet

The internet was unhappy with the President prioritizing foreign aid bills over solving domestic issues, as the following tweets responding to Biden's post demonstrate.

"Nothing to do with America, nothing to do with America, andddddddddd nothing to do with America," noted a user about the bills. "Lord help us."

"The word 'America' isn’t mentioned once," echoed another.

"Joe Biden is the worst 'president' in US precisely for this right here. He’s prioritizing warmongering overseas while our border continues to be invaded. I’d be warranted to curse at Biden. We all would. But the better insult is to point out that he’s failed America," commented a third.

"You’re a National Disgrace. But first close the damn border," jibed a fourth user.

"I strongly support you no longer being president in 202 days," quipped a fifth.
