The 'Food Network' star posted a sweet selfie of herself with her partner accompanied by a caption that channels lyrics from Taylor Swift's 'So High School' of her new album 'The Tortured Poets Department', indicating Bertinelli's elation.

Who is Mike Goodnough?

Goodnough, a writer by profession, recently confirmed his relationship with Bertinelli in a post through his Hoarse Whisperings Substack, according to People.

"I am Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend… and that may well be among the most surreal sentences I’ve ever pecked out. But it’s true… and nothing about our actual relationship seems surreal. It just seems… good… lucky… a gift," he revealed on his Substack. 

"Life is crazy, kids. It just is. It’ll rain hellfire down on you for years and bring you to your knees… and then it’ll open the skies to deep blue and love and calling someone 'Honey' because you just love the absolute hell out of her and feel so very thankful for the gift of that feeling, the gift of her," he added.

"So, the little rumor going around, consider it happily confirmed," he further wrote, adding "I just adore her. I’m so glad we’re together."

Mike Goodnough says people are surprised about Valerie Bertinelli's relationship with him

Goodnough opened up about people being surprised about their relationship as he joked, "Valerie Bertinelli… dating… me!?! I know. Ludicrous."

Playfully acknowledging the challenges of keeping a low profile, Goodnough posted a video of an Entertainment Tonight segment featuring their new relationship.

"When you like being the 'anonymous boyfriend' but the press finds your socials," the writer prefaced the segment.

 

"Welp, so much for the staying anonymous thing. So, uh, hi... I guess," he captioned the post on Friday, April 19.

"Along with being in a relationship with someone of Valerie’s accomplishments and renown come certain things," he previously noted on his Substack.

"Among them is increased attention. I’ve already seen a bit of that here on Substack in the form of a little uptick in signups for free subscriptions," he added.
